Yesterday, we showed you the upcoming five-door hatchback that will join the third-gen MINI family. The spied upcoming MINI of the day is a more familiar bodystyle, the MINI Cabriolet. We know this from the visible rag top on the mule, spied playing on ice at BMW’s test facility near the Arctic Circle.
Once again, it isn’t hard to figure out how the new MINI Cabriolet will look like without camo – just picture the third-gen F56 MINI hatchback with a canvas roof and you’re close.
Engines should mirror the hatch too – a three-cylinder 1.5 litre turbo (136 hp/220 Nm) for the Cooper, a four-cylinder 2.0 litre turbo (192 hp/280 Nm) for the Cooper S and a three-cylinder turbodiesel (116 hp/270 Nm) for the Cooper D, mated to six-speed transmissions.
Reports indicate that the MINI Cabriolet will debut in September this year, before the new five-door MINI hatch appears end-2014. Full technical details and a mega gallery of the new MINI here.

i prefer my Suprima S. Mini Cooper S also has a “S”. But “S” from my suprima is better.
My suprima S is cheaper, larger, safer and of course better handling. Because is from Lotus tech.

Mini (read lifestyle) cars are for rich yuppies whom already has a few cars in their garage. No doubt Mini are good cars, but also overpriced.
For the same price, I believe there are other good cars out there (even better ones) than mini.
You’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.
