It looks like the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is due to be launched soon. Just earlier this month, our regular contributor Anol Alias sighted a CLA 200 at JPJ Putrajaya for type approval.
This week a trailer-load of the car has been sighted by reader Chua Yang Chong. The cars are all of the front-wheel drive CLA 200 variety – so far no CLA 250 has been sighted, and all the grey import cars we’ve seen are CLA 220 CDI AMG Sport models, which are powered by diesel engines.
In fact, reader Warhead Abraham sent in a photo of him posing with a CLA 200 at Mercedes-Benz official dealer NZ Wheels, so if you want an early peek perhaps you could head there.
From what we’ve seen so far, the specs on all of these official distributor CLA 200 are consistent – equipped with the Urban equipment line, a dual tailpipe exhaust system, and the Night package, which is identifiable by the black wing mirror caps and high-gloss waistline trim strip. Wheels are two-tone twin-spoke 18 inchers wrapped with 225/40 tyres.

The rear reminds me of the original CLS. Seems like a good car a small family. Am going for a test drive surely….
Trust me this car is Junk, c class may be better and new A4 beat these 2 by miles.
Do you own one?
240K for a car that is priced lower than the 316i in other countries.
i’m agree with you, with front wheel drive and cramp space inside, cls win on exterior design and brand only beside i doubt their sell price tag near c-class which hugely improve on this gen…CLA lose on every aspect
this car uses same engine as the A200, the CLA 45 uses the same engine as A45. Only difference is CLA by spec is 50kg heavier.
I read some overseas drive reports on CLA, most of them have the same comments, they portrait CLA as the “worst”” Mercedes among all the models. For me personally, I rather wait for the all new C-class even though the price will be pricier a bit.
price will be pricier a bit…if money is not the problem….i will go to CLS….
because C class and CLA class is more tha 50k diff?…bit???
To each his own. May be the best to some or not. I still like the design, a bigger version of the A-Class which it shares same underbody.
This is a car that has full of style but we all know its build along the same line as the A and B Class meant for the entry segment so we can’t expect it to be on par with the 3 main pillars of Mercedes (C, E and S)
If you want anything better then I suggest you to wait for the all new C Class which is the proper entry level to owning a Benz.
What is the price ?
Most likely sub-200k or slightly over before add-ons
We only see CLA200. Where in the world is the CLA45 AMG?
CLA45 AMG will launch as well with CLA200. :)
