TC Euro Cars has officially introduced the facelifted Renault Megane RS 265 Sport in Malaysia. The facelift first appeared last month in a RS 265 Cup version, showcased at the launch of the Malaysia Super GT race series. As the suffix suggests, this is the Sport variant, not the one that sits on the Cup chassis – word is that the RS 265 Cup version will arrive at a later point.
The new look, which premiered in Frankfurt last year, sees the Megane now wearing the brand’s family face, in line with models such as the new Clio RS and facelifted Koleos.
The front gets a more prominent Renault diamond logo placed on a gloss black background, set on to a new grille. The bumper is new too, as are the projector headlights, which feature gloss black “eyelids.” Also on, a F1 blade fitted on the bumper, in a nod to the company’s F1 heritage and success. Only a single exterior colour is listed for the Sport variant – Glacier White.
The Megane RS 265 Sport comes dressed with a Red Pack, which provides accents in the said shade. Outside, the front lip, side mouldings and rear spoiler go the route, while inside, certain trim bits go the red route, as do the seat belts and stitching.
No mechanical changes – the new car has the same running gear as seen in the pre-facelift, in this case a 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbo offering 265 hp and 360 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 6.0 seconds and a 250 km/h top speed.
Standard equipment includes Carbon Grey RS fabric front sports seats, Brembo four-pot front brake calipers, R.S. Monitor 1.0, auto headlights/wipers, auto air-conditioning and multi-mode drive select (Normal/Sport/ESP Off).
In case you were wondering the difference between the Sport and Cup versions of the Megane RS, the Sport loses the sportier seats of the Cup, the limited slip differential and has a softer suspension setup.
The RS 265 Sport sits on 18-inch Tibor dark anthracite wheels and Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 225/40 profile tyres (same size as the pre-FL Cup, but an inch smaller than that equipping the Trophy).
It’s also a cheaper proposition than its Cup sibling – the Megane RS 265 Sport is priced at RM199,999, on-the-road without insurance, making it nearly RM36k cheaper than the pre-FL RS 265 Cup that was launched here in January last year.

Good price!
Manual is good, I’m a manual tranny guy, if this car can come with auto tranny as an option it will have a better market share, at least will draw a lot of potential Golf driver.
I prefer only manual and no option for auto. Why? If got auto most probably they only bring the auto only to Malaysia. For example car like Golf Gti, Golf R, Citroen DS3, most of BMW and even Subaru WRX and BRZ and many more got no manual for malaysia market.
Renault cars ? simple philosophy…. French chicks YES… French cars NO
French chicks
199k? Seriously? Turun harga why?
If you read again, this version is without the cup chasis. Smart move by the way as not all would use it on track days
Petrolheads be like, WOW! Still can’t afford..
Better than Volksw any time, any where!
If this car breaks down in Johor Bahru, where to send for service?
No problem, if it’s major prob, just get it towed
Back to kl.
Johor bahru got renault SC, just beside nissan.
Itulah masalahnya..
But got money. . No problem. . Just pay.
If got enough money just to buy preve and want to buy
This car but worry about where to service, then u r digging yr own grave laaaa
There’s a Renault Nissan SC in Plentong, next to Giant. The Renault staff there is very friendly. Not sure how experienced they are with the Megane RS, but AFAIK they do also work on Singaporean Renaults.
Send to BATANG BERJUNTAI
Wow! still can’t afford but wow.. firesale for the pre-facelift in the used market soon!
Golf GTI can tapau go back Germany liao.
good move
They should make the DCT version like the clio. Confirm can sell well. Manual tranny nowadays not practical la with all the jams sana sini. but still, performance wise and driving feel manual is better. So they have to make 2 options laa.
Whats the point of buying performance car when you want auto? Might as well get a golf…
GTR no manual.. a performance car.
only a fool or a non-car enthusiast would prefer the current Clio RS over the absolutely fantastic previous model. Any man who complains about driving a manual as a daily (even with jams, congestion etc.) should frigging grow a pair and suck it up.
orang tua sakit lutut. all those ferrari, lambo, porsche all now using auto tranny. some of them only have manual tranny. Aiyooo. Not everybody like you. Thats why Golf GTi is more popular in malaysia. Auto. with all these new tech such as the DCT, DSG and others, automatic transmission is getting better. even those recond cars in the market such as the impreza ver10 and Evo 10 are mostly the ones with auto trans.
For cars that are used in races, and where every ms counts, yes, dual clutch or sequential gearboxes are better, cause faster. But in terms of having fun? There’s no way you can beat a manual gearbox. It’s like pleasing your wife yourself, or using some machine to do it. The machine may be faster, but more fun?
Hahaha good example
On the realistic side, if both transmissions are available you cannot assure that those sales people are advised by their managers to promote the two-pedal options to gain more sales and commissions.
Renault currently using Clio RS as testing model on DCT for performance hot hatch and there is a problem for DCT (as Fifth Gear carried out), too many electronics on driving the car.
It is a good pricing strategy in my opinion. Better performance but at a mere 200k which is always better than the out-dated Golf GTI or the entry level A200. The only disadvantage is it comes in 2-door.
I hope to see more of this little creature on the road.
wow the front is so ugly. is this gonna be the new face of all the renaults? i like the present one better. nice car by the way.
It is, and to me it looks much better. When they introduced this face in Korea sales jumped up… yet TC introduced the Fluence with the most boring face in the world, instead of this one.
Definitely a good buy since the cup chassis & LSD is only beneficial on the track most the time. I’d definitely get this over a golf or even an A class. But if it’s my primary car then I’d get the more practical Golf.
If only they took the opportunity to update the boring interior to match the exciting exterior.
Only crony’s son can buy this and go to college
eurotc can make it happen
See me coming from behind, don’t move over, i’m gonna kiss you with my red lips.
Wow! This is simply great.
while still thinking getting this or the d segment 3 series, suddenly saw the price drop. walau, really going to get this eventhough the 3 series is more practical.
no cup. no problem….as long as the manual box still there…in fact the non cup is better suited for our roads
No Recaro semi bucket seat this time..
Best buck for performance – Megane RS
(Cheap + dull interior)
Best styling + badge – A250
(Slow transmission + compromised comfort)
Best overall – Golf GTi
(Not as fast as the others)
Take your pick.
i wont even consider the a250 as a competitor
You’re right. The Megane RS is faster than the GTI, but it’s harder and louder too.
It depends what you want to de with the car. Weekend use only on roads around Cameron Highlands? Take the Megane RS. Everyday use? Take the GTI.
Renault brand wont go futher in malaysia under Slow turtle TC.
Does this facelift come w Colour screen like red bull edition. Thought that was a great feature.
Oh wait. Rs monitor 1.0… Not 2.0
This just needs a RS monitor 2.0
