The 2016 Ford Taurus has been unveiled for the first time in China at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. The Taurus name has been around for a long time now in the US, and now it’s making its way to China – the car has been designed specifically for the Chinese market, and will be manufactured at the new Changan Ford Hangzhou plant.
In size, it is slightly bigger than the Ford Mondeo/Fusion, and it also get its design cues from the D-segment sedan. The radiator grille has a trapezoidal five bar shield-like design at the front, and the headlights come with daytime running lights and LED projector lamps.
A 2.95-metre wheelbase gives the Taurus a spacious interior, as is required for the Chinese market. The rear of the cabin has power-reclining seats, with an optional lumbar support and a massage function.
It’s powered by Ford’s new twin-turbo 2.7 litre Ecoboost V6 engine. Official power figures have not been released, but a similar engine is found in the Ford F-150 pick-up, where it produces about 326 hp and 508 Nm of torque.

We don’t need this car. Proton is BMW quality and Volvo quality safety. Ford go back home now!!!
We don’t need Toyota. Malaysian now start concern quality and safety. Toyota go back home now!!!
Ford is just as low class as Proton. Must invest in Toyota where RV is guaranteed.
RV=regret value
E segment: Compare to A6, 5 series and E class.
funny how in the US, the Taurus is used mostly as a police squad car or seen as just your average fullsize sedan. here in Asia though, it’s categorized as a luxury sedan or some sort of expensive toy..
Ford late design language reminded me of mostly Aston Martin, if not the Hyundai Santa Fe.
Ford new car mostly look like copy from others manufacturer.. for this car.. from side look exactly like Passat, A4 & A6.. Front exactly like Audi A4..
326 hp and 508 Nm of torque
