Not content with switching faces on the 2016 Toyota Fortuner and 2016 Toyota Hilux to see how each would look with the other’s front end, rendering wiz Theophilus Chin has decided to go further afield with the Fortuner – the SUV has now been reimagined in coupe form.
Gone is the beltline that kinks towards the rear, though the rear assembly’s slim tail lights and line flow have been retained. The result is a profile that looks vaguely familiar, like you’ve seen it before, somewhere.
Despite it being fantasy, Theo says that these coupe renderings will annoy the hell out of many people. Does it annoy you, or do you think the shape hangs together quite well?
Unveiled in Thailand last week, the second-generation Hilux-based seven-seater SUV has been totally redesigned with a sleek new look and a more premium-looking interior. New engines too, with the two turbodiesels from the eight-gen Hilux finding their way on here.

Cannot challenge BMW X6 Size.
but this is sure better looking than a BMW X4.
1. If a vehicle is good (safety equipments, build, pricing and aftersales service), everbody wants to buy.
2. If a leader is good (reasonable, considerate, eat reasonably & tolerably, not raxist and not samseng – band and detere without reasons, and think of the wellness and progress of his corporation), everybody wants him to continue.
3. If a husband is good, his wife will not want to divorce him after a 25-year marriage.
4. If X6 is good and cantiq, everybody desires it and wants to use it to compare with other vehicles.
So this rubbish is intended to be driven backwardly?
super ugly…
Ewwwww, Heck no! My eyes!
Fugly!!!
Looks kinda weird for me. Chop a few inches off the roof line and drop the ride height a couple of inches and it will look much better I reckon.
bmw x6 body? disgusting front fender, side look. fugly, no joke.
X6 Rip-Off. Same level of ugliness. The only best part is, its much cheaper than X6.
As long as its not a kimchi, it will have RV
poor man’s X6.
X6? Nah, it’s only gen2 wannabe but fail miserably
Just imagine how successful and elegant the BMW X6 is. Now everybody try to copy this legend. Mercedes, Audi and now Toyota. The fact is can not be deny.
And some joker keep on saying there gen2 looks like X6, what a wanker.
something is wrong somewhere
it is more aerodynamic when drive backwards
The guys at BMW want their X6 design back.
p1 wants their gen2 design back, so?
Of all the awkward designs they could copy they went with the x6’s
it looks quite good in my eyes actually, though i wish the profile can be a little more sophisticated and sexier. it’s a bit too bland for me.
nice…japanese x4
A jack-up Gen2?
