Volkswagen’s new Golf GT Sport trim level

Golf GT Sport Blue

Perhaps after finding out that most Golf Sport buyers have similiar profiles to the Golf GT’s and vice versa, Volkswagen decides to merge the Golf Sport and Golf GT trim levels, creating a single Golf GT Sport trim.

Positioned below the Golf GTI, the new Golf GT Sport has Volkswagen’s award-winning 1.4 litre TSI engine under it’s hood, providing both 140PS and 170PS output levels. A TDI version of the Golf GT Sport uses a 2.0 litre TDI turbodiesel with two different outputs as well – 140PS and 170PS. Gearbox options are either 6-speed manual or 6-speed DSG. These specs qualify it for “warm hatch” status.

You can differentiate a Golf GT Sport from other normal Golfs with it’s darkened grille section, 17 inch ClassiXs design alloy wheels, rear twin chrome exhausts on the 170PS models, GT Sport badges on the front grille and on the rear, as well as a pair of darkened headlamps.

Satria neo still got 1.3L, maybe u mean the performance and road tax and win over the 1.6L satria neo.. Yeah! That GTI is spacious then the satria neo in the inside and more comfort..

I'd definitely save money to buy this gem. It's definitely a worth the money to buy, with that frugal yet big power engine. Not to mention a much2 lower road tax than comparable 2 liter hatch/sedan. Definitely will make it stand out from the typical Civic and Altis drivers out there. If only VW Malaysia come to their senses and start selling this car like Singapore is already now…..

The best choice would be to save up for the 170ps version which utilizes both a super charger and turbo charger hence "twin charger".

According to reviews, it provides better fuel economy and is Volkswagen's proposal to a diesel alternative.

Think if the protong-VW marriage metarialised, we'd have the opportunity to drive this one at lower price. A 51%-49% would have been enough to have VW more say in term of quality & everything.
