UMW Toyota Motor officially opened its flagship Body & Paint Centre in Bukit Raja, Klang this morning. The 5.7-acre centre is part of the company’s RM200 million Integrated Quality Hub (IQH) that sits on a vast 87.5-acre plot.
Launched a year ago, the integrated facility was established to perform all pre-delivery activities before cars are sent out to dealers. The main objective is to improve delivery lead time. The IQH is part of UMW Toyota’s larger RM1 billion investment plan that runs until 2013.
“The opening of this Body & Paint Centre today further strengthens our commitment and providing the best possible ownership experience for our customers,” Datuk Ismet Suki, president of UMW Toyota said at the launch.
“We must continue to deliver high quality products and provide excellent services if we are to keep improving our customer satisfaction and reaffirm our position as the top selling non-national brand in the country,” he added
The B&P centre has 42 work bays, four paint booths and repair equipment that meets the Toyota Standard. Repair capacity is over 6,150 units per year. UMWT’s repair operations at Sungai Rasah will be relocated to this new outlet, although customers can still check-in for repairs at the old location.
