In Europe, Volkswagen has announced that a new Tiguan R-Line version is due to join the model lineup, with first deliveries set to begin in January next year.
It’s not the first Tiguan to wear the R-Line badge – the first-generation R-Line model proved to be one of the more popular Tiguan versions, accounting for nearly 20% of the total sales of the SUV. Things have been renewed with the facelift, and VW is anticipating that this one will be the choice of a quarter of the SUV’s buyers.
Based on the SE trim level, the R-Line route is available on three engine variants, all wearing 4MOTION four-wheel drive. There’s a 210 PS 2.0 litre TSI as well as two 2.0 litre TDI diesel versions, in 140 PS or 170 PS state of tunes.
Additional dress-up items include body-coloured unique front and rear ‘R’ design bumpers, bi-xenon headlights, 18-inch ‘Mallory’ alloy wheels in Sterling Silver with black wheel arch extensions, a rear spoiler and an R-Line logo on the front grille as well as aluminium front door sills emblazoned with a R-Line logo.
Inside, the theme continues with front sport seats and two-tone upholstery, R-Line logo on the front head restraints and stainless steel pedals. Finally, the leather steering wheel gets an aluminium inlay with a R-Line logo.
