Mitsubishi Red Peak Adventure in Melaka, Aug 15-16

The Mitsubishi Red Peak Adventure is back for 2015, and the roadshow will kick off in Melaka this weekend (August 15-16) at Mydin MITC’s outdoor car park, before heading to JB’s Plaza Angsana the following weekend (August 22-23). The hours are 10.00am to 8.00pm, with test rides ending at 7.00pm

Admission is free and visitors who book any MMC vehicle during the roadshow will receive a Triton umbrella The first 100 to test drive (any model) will receive free KFC vouchers, while stock lasts. There will also be a sand art competition for kids (bicycle as main prize) and a lucky draw with a grand prize of RM888.

The centrepiece of the roadshow is a purpose-built truck that folds out to include a 45-degree, 25-feet tall “sky ramp” that points to the sky. Other challenges include the roller ramp test that will see MMC’s 4X4 vehicles “drive through” the Red Peak truck, side traverse, uneven ramp test as well as the new staircase ramp test. We’re sure the actual adventure won’t be half as dramatic as the video above, but it should still be eye-opening to all but the serious off-road enthusiast.

The star car is the new Mitsubishi Triton. Launched here in May, the pick-up truck is available in five variants – Triton VGT Adventure (AT only), Triton VGT AT, Triton VGT MT, Triton MT and Triton Quest (4X2 MT only) – priced from RM67,604 to RM108,274.

The top spec Adventure seen here is powered by a 2.5 litre variable geometry turbo diesel engine with 178 PS and 400 Nm. Standard kit includes steering shift paddles, HID headlamps with LED DRLs, dual-zone auto air con, auto headlamps and wipers, cruise control, leather, keyless entry/push start, and a 6.1-inch touchscreen head unit Bluetooth, voice command and reverse camera.
