KL roads to be closed for ASEAN summit, Nov 18-22

kl-city-jam

Those working in KL city, take note. Several roads in downtown Kuala Lumpur will be closed from tomorrow until Sunday (Nov 18-22) for the 27th Asean Summit and Related Summits 2015.

KL traffic chief Asst Comm Mohd Nadzri Hussain said the closure would be done in stages to make way for the summit that will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, according to The Star.

“We will be controlling the traffic between 7am and 11.30pm but starting this Saturday, we will close the roads in stages from 7.40am until 9am. Between 7.15pm and 8.50pm that same day, the roads will be closed to make way for the gala dinner,” Nadzri said, adding that 705 personnel will be in town to control the flow.

Routes that will be closed include Jalan Binjai/Persiaran KLCC, Jalan Imbi/Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Imbi/Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Raja Chulan/Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Kia Peng/Lorong Perak, Jalan Raja Chulan/Lorong Perak, Jalan Nagasari/Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Sultan Ismail/Jalan Ampang, Jalan Ampang/Jalan Binjai, Jalan Sultan Ismail/Jalan P. Ramlee and Jalan Raja Chulan/Persiaran Raja Chulan.

Motorists can use alternative routes – Jalan Kia Peng/Jalan Stonor, Jalan Tun Razak, Lorong Lumba Kuda, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Jalan Raja Chulan/Tun Perak, Jalan Hang Tuah and Jalan Pudu – to get to their destination. “Routes coming from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and TUDM Airport in Subang will also be affected,” the cop added.

Sounds like traffic mayhem, so consider taking the trains if you really need to head downtown.

Today was traffic nightmare. Jam gila. Why they did not have it in fancy Putrajaya? Why build Putrajaya?

It looks like Putrajaya was built so that many Ministers and UMNO lapdogs would make millions each.

This is what happens when your leader Songlap RM2.6 billion and his party until now just condones it. They are more interested in stealing than running a city properly.

When you have bodohs running the city and stealing from yatim and orphans to go for hlidays in the US, nothing can run properly.

They spent berpuluh puluh BILLIONS building Putrajaya. All contruction contracts given to UMNO Ministers and their relatives. No such thing as tender.

Also all maintenance contracts given to UMNO members.

Even you get the contract to wash all the toilets for Putrajaya, you can get berpuluh puluh millions per year.

Even if you get the contract to potong rumput for Putrajaya also, you can get berpuluh puluh million.

          All given to UMNO members.

That is why Putraja was made and created.

Why cant they wake up early or travel early in order to go to the summits or gala dinner.

Follow suggestion by minister recommendation instead of force close road to burden rakyat malaysia.

For God’s sake. It’s a summit. HEADS OF STATES from all ASEAN countries and dialogue partners will be here. Including obama. I would rather our police take ALL MEASURES to be safe than to be at a higher risk. Our people can never cease to complain.

Hope the Summit PMs and Ministers can ask Najib where is the RM2.6 billion.

Malaysia has no shame. Full of corruption shame and we still want to host the Summit. You rown house so dirty and filthy and you still want to call visitors to your house for a visit.

the worst part is this, scandal already more than 6 months old, not even a single Minister or the goons in UMNO have questioned it.

It only shows, they are all the same because they too believe in stealing, otherwise, why keep so quiet?? All steal steal and sama sama keep quiet.

          So shy.

      • Dei, it’s a sarcastic comment la.

1 Malaysia for them, 1 Malaysia for the rest of us who pay THEIR salary through income taxes, GST, tolls, AP’s, import duties and “donations”.

They don’t give a shit about you or the rakyat, precisely because they get all these perks. I think A LOT of people right now will rejoice if the police DON’T TAKE measures to protect our politicians. Or in fact, “protect” them by taking to jail, just like they did to the journalists a while back.

firstly, get our Ministers and Deputy to take the MRT and LRT to work. Each Minister got like 10 car entourage which causes so much jam. even going to kedai kopi, they blast siren and have outriders kicking our cars which further cause jams.

In UK, Minsiters actually sit in the tube to go to work. Our Ministers are so used to luxury. Too used to high class luxury until they can even songlap orphans money just to have their 8 day holiday that cost RM400,000

It is about time our Ministers show by example. they ask us to pay high tolls and ask us to take LRT and MRT whilst they go about with 10 car entourage with outriders.

My advice to PDRM, instead of balllicking Ministers, get your outriders to patrol neighbourhoods to prevent snatch thieves and break ins.

Once I saw 25 PDRM officers escorting a single Minister. Too much lah PDRM. Ask those officers to help the blind cross the road or patrol neighbourhoods.

  • i find it odd that they dont hold this event in Putrajaya. Wider roads, less traffic, and i assume less headache for security planning. PICC seems like a good location.
