With Honda already set to debut its new UR-V at the coming Beijing International Auto Show, Acura, its neighbours at the show, is also gearing up to debut an all-new compact SUV of its own. The model is also said to become the first Acura to be produced locally in China.

With no further official details to spare at this point, we’re expecting the brand to finally reveal its Acura CDX – its very own version of the Honda HR-V. The CDX will be positioned under the larger RDX and MDX in Acura’s SUV line-up.

Despite sharing its platform and components with the Honda HR-V, the CDX is most likely feature its own styling, inside and out. Could it draw inspiration from the Acura Concept SUV-X that was shown at Auto Shanghai 2013? Coincidentally, it was then reported that a production car based on the SUV-X concept would be revealed by 2016.

Also set to appear at the Beijing auto show is the Acura NSX, confirming that the hybrid sports car will be badged as an Acura for the Chinese market and not as a Honda. Both brands will reveal their new models on April 25 at the Beijing auto show.
