So who’s the next bad guy in the next instalment of the Fast & Furious film franchise? Not a guy it seems, but actress Charlize Theron. The new casting was confirmed by F&F’s official twitter page.

“Our crew will face its greatest adversary in our next film. Welcome Charize Theron to the Fast Family. 4.14.17,” the tweet read. As to whether Theron will go up against Toretto (Vin Diesel) or Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), is as good as anyone’s guess, for now.

Word on the web is that the upcoming movie will be set in a number of places, including the boroughs of Manhattan, NYC and Reykjavik, Iceland – as photos suggest. Meanwhile, Vin Diesel hinted that the final 8, 9 and 10 instalments may form a trilogy to officially conclude the series.

Fast 8 is expected to be out and onto the big screen on April 14, 2017. “I swear to you and to my brother upstairs (Walker), we are going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen,” Vin Diesel said previously, as a gesture to the late (and very first) F&F star, Paul Walker.
