Audi Q7 2.0 TFSI quattro debuts in Malaysia – RM525k

Audi Malaysia has announced the introduction of another second-gen Audi Q7 variant in the country. The Q7 2.0 TFSI quattro joins the Q7 3.0 TFSI quattro – which was introduced last November – in the local line-up for the Typ 4M range.

Externally, the Q7 2.0 quattro is identical to its 3.0 litre sibling in terms of looks, with different wheels being the only visible change for the seven-seater SUV. The 2.0 litre rides on 19-inch five V-spoke design alloy wheels compared to the 20-inch 10-spoke cast aluminium units seen on the higher-end variant.

The variant is powered by a 2.0 litre TFSI four-pot offering 252 hp at 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and 370 Nm between 1,600 and 4,500 rpm. An eight-speed Tiptronic transmission transfers the engine’s power to the quattro permanent AWD system, and performance specs include a 0-100 km/h time of 7.1 seconds (0.8 seconds faster than the previous-gen 3.0 TFSI variant) and a 233 km/h top speed.

Audi Q7

An Audi Drive Select system is present, offering Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency, Allroad (ride height up by 25 mm) as well as Lift/offroad (ride height 60 mm higher, max) modes, and there’s even a loading mode that lowers the rear axle by 45 mm for easier boot access.

Standard kit essentially mirrors that found on the 3.0 litre, and the item list includes adaptive air suspension, LED headlamps and DRLs (with high beam assist and washers), heated and auto anti-glare wing mirrors, powered tailgate and park assist with surround view camera. Also on, MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, complete with an 8.3-inch rising central display.

Some differences inside the cabin; the 2.0 TFSI omits the Audi Virtual Cockpit and comes with a four-spoke steering wheel (three-spoke sports unit on the 3.0 TFSI), without electric steering adjustment.

Audi Q7

The audio on it is also pared down – it’s equipped with an Audi sound system featuring a nine-channel amplifier, 10 loudspeakers and a total system output of 180 watts (the 3.0 litre features a Bose 3D Sound System with a 15-channel amp, 19 speakers and 558 watts total output)

Safety kit consists of electronic stabilisation control (ESC) as well as traction control (ASR), EBD and eight airbags. As for exterior colours, there are seven available, and these are Glacier White, Floret Silver, Argus Brown, Ink Blue, Graphite Grey, Orca Black and a special Daytona Grey with pearl effect.

Finally, pricing. The fully-imported Audi Q7 2.0 TFSI quattro is priced at RM524,900, on-the-road without insurance. (the 3.0 litre goes for RM589,900). Buyers can specify an optional S line package for an additional RM15,000; the package includes front/rear bumper dress up bits, 20-inch cast aluminium wheels and S line sports steering wheel, sport seats and special inlays.

Be very careful when you buy this car at RM525k. 6 months later when Audi intriduce a Q7 Plug in and sell for RM340k, then you will cry like the current petrol X5 owners who bought their cars at RM588k and got a shock when the new X5 Plug in was sold at RM380k

If you are Malaysian government servant, whether director or kerani, you will be able to afford this car and pay cash.

Cause most of our Government servants keep physical cash RM50 million in their house cupboard.

Don’t forget Audi uses 100% parts from VW. You are paying RM525k for a nama busuk VW. Even the engine, I am not surprised if it is same platform as a VW

I would stay away from a company that is filled with non stop lies and cheating. It is cancer. It spreads all over the body. By the way, Dieselgate scandal originated from Audi which exposed VW.

Rm525 for a 2.0 engine is a bit too expensive. The 3.0 is only RM65k dearer. I think for a car this size, a 6 cylinder is the minimum requirement. No doubt the 2.0 is not slow, but a 3.0 engine is just more rewarding to drive. And when you have to pay more than RM500k for the privilege, you’d want the car to reward you.

Does Jib think all of us got RM50 million in RM50 cash in our cupboards like his Government officers?

Even if you are multi millionaire, be warned. Volvo, anything small also, is RM10k to repair.

Even you send for service also, its RM10k for repair and parts.

My friend’s T8 kena bang little bit on the bumper also, Volvo charged him RM15k to replace the bumper.

When you drive a Volvo, it is like driving a Rolls Royce.

Be warned also that the new Volvos are not like the 244GL that you can take to the bengkel to service and body repair. The new Volvos all use sensors and only Volvo can fix any slight knock on the bumpers.

those slight knocks are all RM10k and above.

A 19-inche wheels is normally Big by any standard but not on this Q7.Many will opt for the 20-inch eventually. With 252 hp & 370 Nm, this 2 liter is no slouch. The 0-100 km/h time of 7.1 seconds will make many normal sedan looks pedestrian.

With adaptive air suspension, LED headlamps & DRLs (with high beam assist & washers), heated & auto anti-glare wing mirrors, powered tailgate & park assist with surround view camera, not many will complaint’s about its lack of tech wizardry.

An Audi sound system featuring a 9-channel amp, 10 speakers total 180 watts should keep the audiophiles happy.

OK OK i give up Audi. There is too much to list here. For RM524,900, on-the-road without insurance, this is not cheap by any standard but am sure this Audi will find the way into many Rich homes driven by Datin’s or her driver.

Axxx. changing your identity to comment does not musk your true self. U can complaint about VW/Audi or Porsche till kingdom come.

Usually the complainer complaint is bcos he is a sore looser who does no own a premium car. Chances are this 2 liter TFSI will outrun whatever U are driving.

Costs more than half a million ringgit to buy a so called lower spec mid size luxury SUV in Malaysia. Absolutely ridiculous thanks to our government. I better apply for a job at the local water works department. Perhaps i might be able to afford not one but a few units!
