SPYSHOTS: Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe in Malaysia

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia looks set to introduce another member to its AMG family soon as our resident photographer, Sherman Sim, has spotted the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe on our roads wearing a local trade plate.

The sleeker, two-door sibling to the C 63 S Sedan is powered by the familiar M177 4.0 litre biturbo V8 engine that outputs 510 hp and 700 Nm. A less powerful version of the engine (476 hp/650 Nm) is available for variants without the ‘S’ in its name, but as we’ve experienced with the Sedan’s introduction, it will likely not be offered here.

As this is the C 63 S, a three-stage adjustable AMG Ride Control sports suspension will come as standard, along with an electronic rear axle locking differential – the latter of which isn’t featured on the regular C 63.

The car seen here also sports 19-inch AMG nine-dual Y-spoke alloy wheels finished in matte-black. Being a full-fledged AMG model, a complete bodykit is fitted here as well, featuring new bumpers, diffuser and side skirts. The quad tailpipes, an AMG trademark, further differentiates the model from a non-AMG C-Class Coupe.

Inside, the C 63 S Coupe is identical to the Sedan, with plenty of carbon-fibre on show, and other familiar W205 C-Class bits. Additional switchgear for the AMG Dynamic Select and various other AMG-specific controls are also present beside the car’s touchpad.

It shouldn’t be too long before the C 63 S Coupe makes its official debut here, but the only question left is, how much and will an Edition 1 version be offered as well? As a reference, the C 63 S Sedan is priced at RM698,888 (OTR without insurance), while the Edition 1 model is a RM25,000 premium.

As usual. Will rarely see this car on the road. At that price, can get Maserati, Porsche already.

The coupe external styling looks a bit sedate but it’ll grow on you and looks a lot better in the metal and on the move. Just got to mention that the navigation system is clunky and truly horrible. Hopefully MB will introduce the iOS CarPlay and Android Auto soon.

If anyone looking for a performance Sports Car without paying an arm or a leg & ‘cheaper’ to maintain with reliability to boot, look no further. This is the ‘cheapest’ sports car $$$ can buy some-more can sit 2 people at the back seat.

With a three-stage adjustable AMG Ride Control sports suspension along with an electronic rear axle locking differential, this car will humble many sports car.

However, a BMW M3/4 is likely to outsell & out-muscle this C-63 in most department including the price.

Can’t see how the BMW M3/M4 can out-muscle the Merz with its 6 pot churning out 431hp & 550Nm compared to the C63’s 8 pot with 510hp & 700Nm. Price wise the BMWs are both both above RM700k compared to the sedan C63 which is below RM700k. Granted the BMW’s maybe more popular and might drive and handle a little better.

Jobless, am sure U will agree with me that the C-63 being New will not get any discount. “IF” U are serious in buying a M3/4 for under 700k, U can get it NOW. GUARANTEE if U are willing & have the doe bro.

Jobless, you are right. It takes the Merc 2 extra cylinders & 1,000 cc more to eked out 0.2 second faster than the M3/4. The price of the existing C-63 AMG Coupe is RM781,888

As for this new C-63, we will have to wait for the price. You think the new car will be less than the current price ?!
