After its regional launch last year at Sepang International Circuit, Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia has launched the the 2017 Yamaha NVX scooter – also known as the Aerox in some countries – at a price of RM10,500. The price includes GST, but excludes road tax, insurance and registration.
Designed in-line with Yamaha’s Blue Core philosophy, which promotes engine design efficiency, the Aerox is Yamaha’s first model to obtain the Energy Efficiency Vehicle (EEV) classification from the government. The NVX carries a liquid-cooled, SOHC four-valve single with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA).
The 155 cc engine is rated at 14.8 hp at 8,000 rpm and torque is claimed to be 14.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Power gets to the ground via a CVT gearbox, and the NVX features bulkier styling than the Yamaha NMax, notably in the fairing and has keyless start, while front ABS is standard.
An LCD screen graces the cockpit, displaying all the necessary information the rider needs. A 25-litre storage compartment can be found under the seat, and a USB port is located in a side compartment for charging electronics.
As part of Yamaha’s promotion efforts for the NVX, a one-make race will be held during the Malaysian Cub Prix, with the aim of identifying talented young riders. The first public showing of the NVX will be at the Cub Prix round this July 15 at MAEPS, Serdang, and the Yamaha NVX one-make race will begin in round six.
There are three colours on offer the NVX – Black, Blue and Red. The 2017 Yamaha NVX will be available soon at all authorised Hong Leong Yamaha dealers.

Wow, I don’t even have a motorbike license but I want one of these. Time to register at driving school again…
OMG. Rm10k for this? Is there something wrong with our Government and also our currency?
Government got priorities upside down. Instead of lowering taxes and abolishing GST for our lower income brothers who are bikers, gome instead lower taxes for Mercedes S400L Hybrid from RM850k to RM550k and reduce price of BMW X5 from RM580k to RM380k.
The rich get richer.

Majority can afford. U cant, is ur problem.
This is so pricey. now rm10k it seems like small money to msians.

HL Yamaha should bring in the R15 model.
Finally after a long wait ! Any exact date of the launching ?
I like front look with the angry eye. it will look more fabulous especially at night.
Pay 3k more than NMax for some style, you’ll lose the rear disc brakes. 10k bike with rear drum brakes? What a joke
Actually looks pretty effing good!
Nice to ride but careful, its high risk.
Hi, can you elaborate why “high risk”?
RM10k only, so cheap
Road tax RM32.10, mahai nya
still cheaper than bicycle…. this means that pricing is just about right.
For Mat Rempits , its ‘air liuh meleleh’ and ‘kona baring’
Hoping modenas can teach the big 3 a lesson or two. First by selling a good 200cc bike at 9-11k. Second, by selling a 400cc bike at somewhere between 15-18k.
Need the likes of Yamaha R15, not another scooter..
A 25-litre storage compartment can be found under the seat
– Can it fit full faced helmet?
a USB port is located in a side compartment for charging electronics.
– I can’t find in the pictures. Seem like only have cigarette lighter port (12V, 1A)
There is something wrong with the pricing!
This is internet age nowadays, if we look the same bike in Indonesia, Thailand & Philippine Yamaha official website. The price should be about RM8k(direct convert their local currency to RM).
Then put aside the currency issue, in all the countries, NMax is price higher, reasons is NMax have both disk break & NMax design is a smaller version of XMax/TMax. Ironic in MY NMax is a bit cheaper the NVR! Kudos to HLY.
In short, I like the bike very much from the outlook & some practical features, but not enough for me to pay RM10K+ for this bike, hence the higher the bike price the more insurance fee I need pay to cover it.
Unless someone stand out to explain “WHO TOOK THE MONEY”, after clearing out those questions, then I might consider buying one.
Nice design, awesome spec but smallish fuel tank. Frequent refuel ensured.
mahei….10.5k for diz…menawhile in aus 55k can get civic type r….so means 5nvx = 1civic type r…

One good (if not, the best) commentator from Paultan.org so to speak. English is smoothly-spoken.
Nice looking and rightly priced. I think it will sell. I definitely would like to have one.
I’ve been using yamaha ego s for 7years until now, even not so fast but easy to use.. But now,the mother of scooters has been released NVX155.i really want of these.yamaha scooters always be my #1 choice! ;)
I already book and was told Yamaha only give ONE keyless remote, is this serious?… big trouble & hassle if lost that only one…
Is this right?
I could not find any blue color NVX on display but was told that it is similar to movistar blue. The waiting list is long for the blue color so I chose red instead. The red is matte while the black & blue are glossy. Expect blue color to dominate the road
please explaint to us about warranty for engine ,and how long warranty hong leong give to customer… other dealer said warranty only 6 month and need to pay for 1 year warranty.
