If you’ve been eyeing the Volkswagen Vento or Passat recently, good news! Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has announced a special low interest rate promotion for selected variants of both models mentioned.
Applicable for hire purchase loans with durations of five, seven and nine years, the promotion is available from now until September 30, 2017. Furthermore, each purchase of these models will come with a five-year warranty and free maintenance package.
Starting with the Vento, the offered variants include the Trendline, Comfortline and Allstar, with interest rates going as low as 0.28% per annum should you opt for a five-year term on the hire purchase loan. If you prefer a seven-year term, that figure goes up to 0.88%, while it is 1.28% for nine years.
As for the Passat, the promotion covers the Trendline and Comfortline variants, where customers who choose a five-year loan tenure are offered an interested rate of 0.88% per annum. Meanwhile, a seven-year term is paired with a 1.28% interest rate and a nine-year term with 1.68%.
All three Vento variants mentioned here are powered by a 1.6 litre MPI naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine with 105 PS and 153 Nm of torque, mated to an Aisin-sourced six-speed automatic transmission. On both the Passat Trendline and Comfortline, a 1.8 litre TSI direct-injection turbocharged four-cylinder engine serves up 180 PS and 250 Nm, paired with a seven-speed DSG dry twin-clutch automatic gearbox.

Read 1st. or Stick to ur saga.
I’ll be the last to buy a VW for the simple reasons,
I don’t have the money for costly maintenance.
I don’t have enough free time and another spare car while awaiting for DSG clutch repair.
Unless VW provides any of their cars during repairing period or daily basis compensation
To be fair, all three Vento offered here doesn’t come with dry cluth. Don’t generalize the issue :P
You need to own 1 to know what other issues besides DSG.. my DSG working fine but speed sensor issue occur very frequently..
Speed sensor & all those stuffs are covered by warranty…as long as its within the 5 yrs warranty period, its foc..why do u need to worry abt paying for those….u sure u are an owner? Or just trolling around?
u still need to waste time sending to service center for repair. and for most people, time is money.
I owned one and I have to admit, service center is pain in the neck but I ask myself, how many times I’ve visiting the service center? actually only twice a year and max 3 times. Cars are driven electronically instead of mechanically nowadays so I can’t blame the pop up lights on warning of individual signs. I would say it is better cause I know what is going on with the parts rather than car just shook and stall without warning and taking time to check. I would give VW another shot as I’ve driven many brands, although toyota and honda does a good job in servicing my car, but when it comes to driveability and car characteristic, I have to give a thumbs up to VW. Definitely a good car for town and long distance. Just the service cost is a bit hefty but hey! 5 years free service.. why not?
VW banyak wear and tear.. and parts are so expensive..
No worries…the 1.6 Vento/polo is quite reliable, NA engine that has been around for donkeys years and the 6 speed torque converter gearbox aisin are bullet proof…..u need to be caution of the passat 1.8 TSI & its dry DSG version, better stay away from that combo…
Dude, I have been using that “combo” for 3 years, it’s realiable . Better get first hand info from real owners like me before spreading rumors. All CKD cars since 2014 are PERFECTLY reliable.
Its depend….i hv 2 model wt that combo, ie tsi & dry dsg…1 hv enless issues wt both its tsi & dsg, end up selling it off, bur another model wt the same combo hv been reliable and will reached 5 yrs by nov wtout any prob…guess, its depend on ur luck
Lucky U, Proton more pening dan parts taking turns go kaput. Sigh..
Fake news again, sigh
nice and awesome cars but the hassle is not worth it anymore!
Enjoy driving passion. Affordable conti, VW cars built more “solid” with firm weldings and thick sound proofing to make cruising an altogether pleasant experience.
negative interest also I won’t buy.
Wah… up to nine years. 7 years is more than your secondary school life (think about it), want to 9 years loan somemore? If you need 9 years for a car loan, better off getting a more affordable car for 3-5 years. Live within your means.
All in all, these are some good rates from VW. Kudos.
If someone replace their old Polo badge with the Vento badge, I wonder how many can tell the difference other than a Polo owner.
Well 12 years olds may not be able to tell, that’s for sure.

How bout reducing the price by 50% first?
Serious question, why?
This the result of selling problem cars with bad after sales service.
Two of my friends had engine seize, piston jammed.
Polo Gti and Golf Tsi. Then two others sold their cars after just 3 years, cannot stand the service…wait wait wait only, no spare parts. This, apart from the infamous DSG issues.
Which is why a shift in VW management had occurred in late 2016 and new MD immediately acknowledged and focused on rectifying the aforementioned issues. Since then I’ve not heard major aftersales complaint.
Any existing VW owners mind to share your experience on this as I’m seriously thinking of getting a VW.
I am a owner of VW Beetle 1.2 2014 so far DSG problem happened to me once got it fix so far smooth sailing…i notice most engine problems happen because the owner do not check the engine oil level, it have to be top up often if not you gonna have many problem. This is the failure of VW service centre never let the owner know they have to top up the engine oil. This got worse when you only service once a year, owner just take for granted they don’t need to do anything for a year !
