To mark the release of the new Gran Turismo Sport on the PlayStation 4, Peugeot has released an updated version of the L500 R HYbrid Vision Gran Turismo. Meet the L750 R Hybrid Vision Gran Turismo, essentially a sleeker, sportier version of the 2016 concept.
In terms of performance, the car will complete the virtual 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.4 seconds, which is one tenths quicker than the L500 R. This is thanks to the significantly more powerful hybrid powertrain, which combines a high-revving (up to 10,000 rpm) petrol engine and a 170 hp electric motor.
The former outputs 580 hp, and is coupled to a seven-speed sequential gearbox, with both assemblies mounted on the rear axle. Meanwhile, the electric motor powered by a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery.
Other driving-related equipment include a dual-circuit hydraulic braking system and four ventilated carbon discs, adjustable independent front and rear suspension, and forged-magnesium wheels. The carmaker says the car weighs 175 kg lighter than the L 500 R at 825 kg, and has been designed for optimum aerodynamic efficiency.
Visually, the L750 R gains plenty of new components on its exterior to reflect its higher performance levels. A prominent wing and fins adorn the front fascia, while in other areas, you’ll find a roof-mounted air scoop and a large rear wing.
