Cycle & Carriage Batu Caves gets 100% score from Daimler, joins largest Centre of Competence network

Mercedes-Benz dealer Cycle & Carriage Bintang has announced that its Batu Caves outlet has been certified by Daimler AG as an official Mercedes-Benz body and paint centre, joining Cycle & Carriage Johor Bahru and Bukit Tengah. This means that the company has the largest Centre of Competence network in Malaysia, with certified facilities in both northern and southern regions as well as the Klang Valley.

The Batu Caves centre was actually the first to gain the seal of approval in 2012, but was re-audited in November as part of the certification process. It received a perfect score of 100%, making it one of the highest-ranking centres for collision repair in the world. The 45,000 sq ft facility features 22 body and paint work bays and has a monthly capacity of 130 vehicles.

“The Centre of Competence certification is an assurance that all Cycle & Carriage body and paint repairs are carried out according to the stringent global specifications set by Mercedes-Benz,” said CEO Wilfrid Foo. “Having three of our body and paint facilities awarded the certification is an impressive achievement.”

This follows the certification of the Johor Bahru and Bukit Tengah centres last year, after a comprehensive upgrade to the facilities and their equipment – as well as specialised technical training and service process enhancement for their employees – in early 2017. The 32,000 sq ft Johor Bahru outlet has 14 body and paint work bays, while the 14,000 sq ft Bukit Tengah outlet has five work bays.

Daimler’s Centre of Competence certification process includes a stringent evaluation on workshop equipment for body repair and paint ares, as well as for auxiliary material, the repair process and administration practices. Each employee goes through training programmes at the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy to provide extra skills and keep them up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies.

“Cycle & Carriage Bintang employees are technical experts trained by Daimler AG to ensure every Mercedes-Benz vehicle we receive is restored to its original specifications,” added Foo. “We go the extra mile to further enforce this confidence by offering Cycle & Carriage Bintang customers a two-year repair warranty.”

    130 cars max? per month?

ok, most mercedez bought are A class, C and E class. the range is between 300-500k.
    average RM400,000.

a minor accident for this type of cars easily 30k.

lets say 100 cars per mth, average 30k claims per car. total is RM3 million ringgit. wow. very good business indeed.
