FIRST LOOK: G01 BMW X3 xDrive30i Luxury – RM314k

The third-generation G01 BMW X3 was first revealed globally in June 2017, and recently made its launch debut in Malaysia just a few days ago. The SUV arrives as a locally-assembled model, with just one variant available – the X3 xDrive30i Luxury priced at RM313,800 on-the-road without insurance.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0 litre twin-scroll turbo engine with 252 hp and 350 Nm of torque, which is paired to the standard xDrive AWD and eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. In terms of performance, the variant will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, and on to a top speed of 240 km/h.

As seen in the variant name, the X3 comes with the Luxury Line package with underbody protection in Frozen Grey and high-gloss chrome trim on the outside. Other exterior items include 19-inch double-spoke alloys in Ferric Grey, LED headlamps with high beam assistant and Comfort Access with contactless tailgate operation, among other things.

Inside, the X3 gets Vernasca leather with contrast stitching on the sports seats, Sensatec-covered instrument panel with contrast stitching and Dark Oak wood trim strips with Pearl Chrome accent strips. Also standard are a rear camera, Park Distance Control, Parking Assistant auto parking, a 10.25-inch central screen, Welcome Light Carpet and BMW Connected Drive.

Most of the X3 design looks like a typical
        JINJANG JOE’S CAR

Only this category of ppl will want it while the rest will not even look or admire it at all.

This is one very capable and beautiful SUV. Usually BMW vehicles’ look will grow on you and stay beautiful forever

    • But normally BMW design is the fastest of all the premium compact SUVS to look dated after two to three years of usage and ownership.

It will looks more dated in look during the forth years as compare to others

This is NOT a true X3 2018 international model becos Malaysia have reuse old head lamps and remove dog lamps just to save cost. Those we can see. Not sure what else they have cut corners inside. Bye bye BMW malaysia

To be fair i think other market do have the normal LED headlights ( old shape) and some market does include fog lamps on luxury line , but the new adaptive led headlight (hexagon shaped) is the identity of the new gen models of BMW ,BMW MY just cutting corners to keep it cheaper same as 530e.

320K without a proper safety features? BMW, you need to balance up in term of performance and safety, not only focus on performance and value, your safety priority seem like “on wrong mission”

They are just mirroring what the GLC250 has at the moment without being first in the segment….which is a pity.

  • Better buy GLC and XC60 .

    These are way better .

X3 is still a bit Tin kosong for the asking price lacking some important necessary features.

Nah ill tell you the cons of having GLC and XC60
      GLC
      -Overpriced
      -Weak hp
      -Sluggish gearbox

      XC60
-Rear seats are bloody narrow and tight
-Having hybrid means more maintenance cost
      -Passive suspension

Tin kosong is not available for rm320k.

      Sincerely,previous xc60 owner

I think BMW Malaysia didn’t try hard enough to one up over MBM. Sure the GLC250 might be a bit weaker, have a smaller nav screen and costs a couple of thousand more but it has adaptive LEDs, a better sound system, bigger rims, sunroof and surround view cameras – none of these are in the X3. It really sells as you can see how many of these are on the road at the momentand TBH the new XC60 is a better competitor. Sorry BMW Malaysia but u made another lousy move after the 530e blunder. Here’s hoping you don’t screw up the local CKD G20 and G05 launch with its global unvieling later this year.

having better sound isolation without a better sound system is a huge let down. Glc looks better that’s all.. no need to mention their worst gearbox in class and windows vista like infotainment, jz overpriced.
