The facelifted, 2018 Mazda CX-3 has been launched in Malaysia following its preview, in sole 2.0 litre SkyActiv-G petrol guise. This unit outputs 151 hp at 6,000 rpm and 204 Nm of torque at 2,800 rpm, which drives the front wheels via a six-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission, and the driveline retains Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control (GVC) system.
The Japanese B-segment crossover brings exterior changes including a new grille with double chrome slats, more chrome accents, darkened foglamp surrounds, taillight assemblies inspired by the CX-5 and redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels shod in 215/50 profile tyres.
More changes abound within the car, where among the most notable is the move to an electronic parking brake instead of the previous, manual handbrake. This enables the inclusion of auto brake hold, and the redesigned gear lever console houses repositioned Sport mode selector and MZD Connect controls. The latter is nearly identical to that found in the bigger sibling, the CX-5.
Equipment in the 2018 CX-3 also includes LED automatic headlamps, foglamps and tail lamps, keyless entry and start, a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat with memory function for two position presets, automatic wipers, automatic air-conditioning, a colour heads-up display, shift paddles, cruise control, MZD Connect system with a seven-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio, reversing camera and an auto-dimming rear view mirror.
The facelifted crossover gets a boost in the safety department, where Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert have been added, joining the existing suite of systems comprising ABS, EBD with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), six airbags and ISOFIX rear child seat anchors. This time around, the powered sunroof is omitted.
As for creature comforts within, front occupants get an armrest with storage underneath, while rear occupants also get a new centre armrest with built-in, deployable cupholders. Up in front, the dashboard gains slimmer air-con vents, a shorter chrome bar and suede-like trim while NVH is improved by thicker door panels, tailgate glass, headliner and upgraded door seals.
The price of RM121,134 on-the-road, without insurance excludes the optional RM1,792.45 Skytint window film, along with the RM1,198.11 satellite navigation. This will be revised once SST has been finalised, though Mazda will absorb the price difference for units booked before Sept 1.
The 2018 Mazda CX-3 remains a fully-imported (CBU) model from Japan, and each unit purchased will be supported by a five-year/100,000 km warranty and a three-year/60,000 km free maintenance package. Six exterior colours are available for the 2018 CX-3, and these are Soul Red Crystal, Machine Grey, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue, Ceramic Metallic and Jet Black.

So expensive for such a tiny car. the car is so small and cram that even the Myvi feels like a S class.
Once Boyue comes about, this car will be wiped out. Malaysians want space. Full stop. No need all that G vectoring gimmick. Most Malaysians want space.
Hahahaha! Now u sapot P1. Lolz! Gud! Gud!
P1, Geely, Mesidis, VolvoCar, VolvoTrucks, Lotus > all
Daimler Benz swatch collaboration owns SMART
Daimler Benz jv with PSA
Daimler Benz jv with BYD
Daimler Benz has minority shareholder Geely.
Anything else?
simple things please small minds!
A narcissist will alwiz talk about himself. on such example is above.
Cannot deny that the cabin size is small, very small actually. But the build quality is a lot better than it’s competitors. The materials Mazda use in its cars, and the features makes Mazda’s car 1 class ahead of its competitor.
Back to the cable size, sadly average size Malaysian will feel packed.
If u thinking to get CHR, this is the better option. Even Toyota USA agrees, that u wanna gud Toyota go buy a Mazda.
Agree. Mazda CX-3 remains the most affordable Japan CBU here.
Now you see no ethical mazda msia in doing business, under same CBU car tax structure from rm139k drop to rm 121k @-15%.
Tak tahu baca kah? This is the price without GST and for bookings before 1 Sept 2018. The price will be revised when SST kicks in.
Whats that slot below the aircon knobs? CD player?
Hh??? I thought it already been launch??? It’s all in Mazda showrooms already what?
Any time better than xc60 and 308
they will give the sat nav for free
Both previous and current model are nice and good looking car.
(Like) Latest Mazda CX3
(Dislike) Outdated design current and new facelift Honda HRV
Masalah mazda ni, cat yang betul2 lawa merah je. Cuba tiru cat gray mercedes dan biru mitsubishi asx
actually mazda should bring in the more popular CX-4, instant of CX-3..
Have you seen all the “expensive complains” to CX-3 already? How dare Mazda to bring CX-4 in?
i would prefer if the SunRoof is retained.
The replaced safety features r more important lor.
Agree with John. All the safety feature makes it a better car. Although sunroof is nice, but not so practical in Malaysia.
I’ve own cars with sunroof before. It only gives you bragging rights. Bloody useless piece of equipment over here.
Topup 10k from HRV highspec and u get a far better quality CX3
Ignoring practicality factor, this car is very “torquey”. 2800rpm for max torque from a NA engine is impressive. Guys with 175cm is not advice to sit at rear passenger area.
Any news for CX-8?
everything is nice on this car.. until u accidentally crash it and need replacement of parts later, it will be super pain in the ass.. furthermore its an CBU
This CBU CX3 looks impressive. At RM121,134 OTR without insurance. it comes with a proper 2 liter unlike its Japanese counterpart.
The materials used in the CX3 feels soft like some Germans sedan. If this is a CKD, it will steal sales from Honda HRV.
I like everything about the car (CBU) except the size. I bought the CX5 (CKD) instead.
Betul. Moreover Honda service is very terrible
Can’t help it. Honda sold so many cars until their SCs look like a wet market. I know because I also own a CR-V.
What’s wrong with Mazda, having FL they should bring in the ACC !!
ACC is missing on both Mazda 6 & CX-3 facelift, damn…..
power output at only 151hp is freaking low…. ohwai, compare it with a civic 1.5 turbo and see.
You and your CVT Civic 1.5L turbo. LOL.
No other cars to compare? How about Renault Megane, Golf GTi, Ford Focus ST/RS?
It is very obvious U are a Honda(1.5 turbo) fanboy. If U intend to compare a Honda with this CX3, U should pick the HRV which use a 1.8 liter engine.
Nice. Still a nifty performing and handsome to look at little package that could.
why launch when they dont have enough stock?
