In a bid to encourage motorsports in Selangor, the state government has proposed a race track be built in Sungai Tua, Gombak. Chief Minister Amirudin Shari said the state government will allocate 20 acres of land for the construction of the track, said a Sinar Harian Online report.
The race track will be built as a Public Private Partnership, said Amirudin during the presentation of the Selangor Budget 2019. “Aside from this, various motorsports events at national and international level will be held when construction is completed,” he said.
Giving further details on the proposed track in Gombak, Amirudin said there would be seating capacity for 1,000 spectators. Facilities provided will include a paddock, cafeteria, surau and sales booths. The construction of the track will involve discussions with the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) for specifications and accreditation.
“Not only that, in order to maximise usage, the track can be used as a driver training ground for government bodies such as JPJ, police and the Fire and Rescue department,” Amirudin said.

I think better we conserve our funds for now. This is because 60 years of corruption has left the country dry. We need at least 10 years to repay and undo all the corruption that went on.
Maybe we can do this track later….
Gombak race track and facilities will be fully funded by those kapchai manufacturers?
Bike modifier & Supreme t-shirt can chip in too
It takes a corrupt to know one…even now a corrupt is THE finance minister…all projectswere cancelled just to pay his exorbitant salary of 80k per month…ironically the previous so called corrupt government did a good job in transforming the country to where it is now…a fully industrialised and developed country…the supposedly present not so corrupt government didnt do anything concrete until now…what a joke…so hopeless
Lolz!
Good job Selangor state government! Malaysia towards FIA and FIM motorsport nation.
The track also benefit our youth, there will be no more Mat Rempit racing on the streets
The MB’s backyard gonna be noisy, pity all the wild animals at the serene sg tua
So he can justify relocating place residence and build new palace? I see what they did there…
Cut uni funds to pay race track. Happy princes!
Better skip this one n save the asphalt to patch potholes
We need more race tracks because got too many abang abang who rempit on our roads at night
Go Kesas every night, you see one type of people racing illegally. So this track is good for them
But can this proposed track fit those lalabeng Vioses?
At 1st corner, all of them end up in wall of shame.
Ah bengs will get to enjoy orso…ah lians will support and cheer at them
We already have track !! is call Sepang.
It’s true. But still, most of the mat rempits said that “kami minta buat track korang taknak” thingy. Probably Sepang is too long for them to test their speed.
“In a bid to encourage motorsports in Selangor…” *eyerolls*
So no more free water, collect water bill payment to build race track… Is this what you mean?
Don’t forget you still have to pay tolls.
Why not at Shah Alam??? Ohhh yah, tu high class area. Bagus lah kat Gombak, Mat rempit tak payah pergi jauh untuk racing.
what..?..sg tua ?…better shift the track to somewhere else laa…that area sensitive for a race track…bukit beruntung is the most suitable place…far from crowd of residential area.. those folks around sg tua want to live in peace laah…
Living near a race track is actually quite peaceful. It’s only loud inside but quite ok outside. Better than living in a busy town.
To build a race track near any residential area will require a noise rules. Pengayuhbasikal is right.
dulu dah ada Batu Tiga Track elok2 dirobohkan. skrg nak buat track baru pulak…. tak bangang ke tu????
good plan MB. use Tangkak track as a benchmark
Roboh projek, then buat balik projek…….poket masuk duit…..
Malaysia style of carik makan…
Ok, now here is my question:
Why don’t just upgrade the F1 circuit and use it instead? Is the car race track and motorsports race tracks look different?
