The Grand Tour season three premieres on January 18

The trio of Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson are set to return to your telly real soon, as season three of The Grand Tour will premiere on January 18 next year. To give us a taste of what the boys have been up to over the past year, there’s also an official trailer to go along with the announcement.

Like previous seasons, expect a number of crazy road trips and challenges, some of which will involve cars. As the trailer shows, there’s no shortage of motorised vehicles, with muscle cars, the McLaren Senna, Mercedes-Benz X-Class, Lamborghini Urus and three classic Lancias being among those seen.

General “cocking about” will also be heavily featured, including driving on a suggestively-shaped ice track, waiting to be struck by lightning, as well as Hammond going over the edge and hitting the Edge.

Season one of The Grand Tour saw 13 episodes being released, while season two had just 11 episodes. It has yet to be confirmed how many will be part of season three, given that the budget for the show is “smaller than it was,” as discussed by the presenters in front of a burning helicopter.

Whatever the case, it’s going to be an entertaining time for motoring fans when the popular group of middle-aged men are back on the small screen. Look forward to January 18, 2019.
