2019 Yamaha NVX 155 and Y15ZR get Doxou bodywork

2019 Yamaha NVX 155 and Y15ZR get Doxou bodywork

In the South-east Asia market, many motorcycle models are sold across border and of late, there has been a trend for bikes in one country to wear the bodywork and graphics intended for another market. This is especially true of riders in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

For fans of Yamaha motorcycles, some of the most aggressive styling comes from Vietnam, with the current 20th Anniversary bodywork. For 2019, the Yamaha NVX 155 (RM9,988 in Malaysia) and the Yamaha Y15ZR (RM7,888) – sold in Vietnam as the Exciter 150 – get limited edition Doxou bodywork in colours and graphics unique that market.

Setting the Doxou bodywork apart is the overall matte blue paintwork combined with reddish bronze but even more outstanding is the light blue wheel at back and black with blue stripe in front. This is set off by the bold striping and Doxou graphics.

Aside from the Doxou graphics and colours, the Y15ZR remains the same as the facelifted model with full LCD meter. The engine is also the same, a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill displacing 150 cc, matched to a five-speed gearbox and producing 15.4PS at 8,500 rpm and 13.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.

Meanwhile, the NVX 155 scooter comes with a 155 cc single-cylinder power plant that pumps out 14.8 hp at 8,000 rpm and 14.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The liquid-cooled engine comes with variable valve actuation (VVA) and is fed by EFI, with power transmitted through a CVT gearbox.

why the 155cc produces lower power than the 150cc?

might as well just use the 150cc engine right?

Power does not measured by the displacement. Or it could be just a scooter thing.

Aiyo never heard of scooter ah? Other than the drivetrain itself being cvt sapping power, it also made to be more fuel efficient. Why do you think harley bikes so big yet make so little power?
