Aren’t the country supposed to be poor? Why spend taxpayer money participating in ALL THREE levels of Motor racing? Do we really need a local team in MotoGP if our riders can step up like Hafizh? Surely other private teams would gladly take them aboard if they can perform at that level. No point being last place just like AirAsia’s Lotus F1 Racing, participating for the sake of national pride or rather Mahathir’s pride. Racing is a serious business and the Government has no rhyme or reason to join. None of the racing teams in MotorGP has a government funded team, only Malaysia has one. Memang boleh, memang bodoh!

      • Nope

AirAisa Lotus F1 Racing is a Tony Fernandes ego trip to defeat its rival airline owned Virgin F1 Racing owned by Sir Richard Branson.

Yeah, with taxpayer money spent. And it wasn’t only Tony’s ego that was stroked, remember Proton & Lotus was under a certain geriatric chairman back then, his ego was stroked as well. Now we come full cycle and stroked another of his ego again. Sigh.

I don’t yet see how this is money well spent in setting up a MotoGP team. It’s well known it takes 3x more resources and money compared to funding a Moto2 outfit. All that just cuz one rider made it to MotoGP on merit? How is that well spent? What’s the problem of the current system to nurture more local riders and get more into MotoGP on merit as well? We certainly don’t need a local MotoGP team to do that! Whatmore this is not a private sponsored setup but a Government funded one. I would agree with you on having a MotoGP team if we have more quality riders to spare but at the moment, Nein!

this is how fuel company prove their products reliability. tested in lab and show it on track. petronas fuel quality can be seen in Motogp, DTM, Paris Dakar and of course F1. they engaged with top teams. racing tracks are their testbed. hafizh is icing on the cake. maybe you have better mr joachim
