FIRST LOOK: V167 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 AMG Line

Shortly after making its world debut, the V167 Mercedes-Benz GLE has quickly found its way to Malaysian shores, and it’s available in the sole GLE 450 4Matic trim. The fourth-generation SUV is fully imported and carries an estimated pricing of RM633,888. For the first time, a seven-seat option can be specified – the unit in this video is the five-seater version.

The new GLE rides on the automaker’s Modular High Architecture (MHA), which sees improvements to all aspects of the car. To start, it gets a brand new M256 3.0 litre turbocharged straight-six – the same one you’ll find in the CLS 450 – that produces 367 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It’s paired to a 48-volt mild hybrid system that provides a 22 hp/250 Nm boost under hard acceleration, along with a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive.

For features, the GLE 450 4Matic AMG Line wears a more aggressive exterior kit, starting with the AMG “A-wing” front bumper, a studded “diamond” grille and a rear diffuser with integrated twin tailpipes. There’s Multibeam LED headlights and a Night Package with gloss black highlights as well, while 22-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels fill the squared-off wheel arches.

The wholly-redesigned cabin comes with twin 12.3-inch displays, linked to the latest Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system with Linguatronic voice control. Other features here include a 64-colour LED ambient lighting system, brushed aluminium trim, panoramic sunroof, acoustic glass windscreen and side windows.

As a bonus, Airmatic air suspension is also offered, but the GLE gets a new 48-volt E-Active Body Control system. The latter controls the spring and damper of each corner individually, allowing it to perform such tricks as rocking the car free if it gets stuck off-road. Pretty high-tech stuff, this. What do you think?

The pricing in Malaysia is quite crazy for this car. The global price of this car is less than US$60k (RM240k)

Come to Malaysia, it is RM650k

No logic. Either MBM is trying to perah Malaysians or Malaysia has still the most expensive car prices in the world since 20 years now.

Most rich people dont care about the price.. They can afford it.. They just move on with this price tag and focus on how to earn it.. If they spend time thinking on why MBM charge high price or why gov still impose old high tax policies even we already change the gov, they will not be rich…

Apparently you are not rich people, rich people calculated every cents they spent and sure won’t waste on such a over priced car

Mercedes cars are worth to buy here becuz the principal selling them at losses for bigger market share. For instance, Cycle & Carriage Bintang (CCB) reported that it sold more Mercedes Benz vehicles but the Mercedes Benz dealer trading ops still made a net loss. My10sen advice, Buy now before price goin up

If Nissan has lots of technology, then explain why Almera only has 1 airbag?
