KL roads to be closed tomorrow for Tour de Langkawi

Those planning to head downtown into KL city tomorrow, take note. Major roads in the capital city will be closed tomorrow (April 6) in conjunction with the Tour de Langkawi cycling event, The Star reports.

According to PDRM’s city traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya, an early road diversion would be set up along Jalan Ampang (in front of KLCC) from 11pm tonight.

“The diversion of the road is needed to make way for logistics and technical preparations for the race. Traffic policemen will be on hand to facilitate traffic in the area,” he said, adding that tomorrow, 13 roads around the city would be temporarily closed from 11am until the event concludes.

The roads are: Jalan Tun Razak/Jalan Ampang, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng/Jalan Ampang, Jalan Pinang/Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Ampang/Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Sultan Ismail/Jalan Raja Abdullah, Jalan Raja Laut/Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Kuching/Susur Jalan Tun Razak, Bulatan Dato Onn/Jalan Kinabalu, Bulatan Sungai Besi (Kajang bound), Bulatan HUKM (Kajang bound), Bulatan Billion heading to Bulatan Kuari, MRR2/Bulatan Kuari and Jalan 1/Jalan Kuari.

“It is best if they (motorists) avoid the roads mentioned altogether. If anyone is planning to head to the city centre, please use public transportation,” ACP Zukefly advised.

Why do it in KL and cause so much of jams and inconvenience with road closures? Do it in Putrajaya. It is like a dead town during the weekends.

Why did we even create Putrajaya for?

Why not do it around Langkawi 4-5 times? It’s not called Tour de Putrajaya isn’t it?

I hope those who are seeing the Tour De Langkawi behave civic minded. Pls don’t throw sampah everywhere.

Usually after such events, kasihan all the DBKL sweepers. They have to sweep so much of rubbish on the roads.

I hope this time, parents and also children teach their children how to keep KL clean. Especially those parents with many kids, pls tell your kids to keep KL clean
