An official recall notice has been issued for the Yamaha YZF-R25 sports bike and Yamaha XMax scooter for a voluntary parts replacement. The recall exercise involves the replacement of the rear brake lever for both models.

For the YZF-R25, the recall notice is for 2019 models with frame numbers PMYRG1520K0000127 – 0166, PMYRG1520K0000207 – 0246, PMYRG1520K0000247 – 0286, PMYRG1520K0000287 – 0326, PMYRG1520K0000327 – 0366, PMYRG1520K0000367 – 0406 and PMYRG1520K0000407 – 0446.

As for the XMax scooter, frame numbers included in this exercise are PMYSG4010K0001727 – 01766, PMYSG4010K0001767 – 01806, PMYSG4010K0001807 – 01846, PMYSG4010K0001847 – 01886, PMYSG4010K0001887 – 01926, PMYSG4010K0001927 – 01966, 01967 – PMYSG4010K0002006.

Owners of the affected YZF-R25 and Xmax two-wheelers will receive official notifications from Hong Leong Yamaha Motor from the middle of June 2019. Owners affected by the recall should contact any authorised Yamaha dealer or Hong Leong Yamaha Motor branches to make a service appointment for parts replacement.
