Sime Darby Swedish Auto appointed as Volvo dealer

Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has announced the appointment of Sime Darby Swedish Auto as its new dealer-partner. The company said the appointment of Sime Darby Swedish Auto is part of the planned expansion of its dealership network in the country, in line with the second phase of the brand’s transformation plan.

“We are committed in the expansion of our dealership network to allow our customers a greater range of showrooms and service centres to choose from, in line with our effort to deliver the best customer journey within the premium automotive segment,” said VCM MD Nalin Jain.

Sime Darby Swedish Auto’s new Volvo 3S centre – which will be located in Ara Damansara – is expected to be operational in the next couple of months. According to VCM, further details of the new Volvo dealership will be announced closer to its launch.

Easy for Volvo sales to go laku keras here. My 30yrs of auto marketing knowhow tell us, Volvo should do this. Given their premium car clientele.

Offer 7-year/unlimited mileage warranty with 7-year/unlimited mileage free scheduled service. Also 2-year warranty covers against tyre damage

But there must mean a ton of 6 – 7 year old Volvos for sale out there. Just like the 3 year old BMWs for sale. Nice cars but not lasting

When I was shopping for Merc/BMW/Volvo.

Merc and BMW offering all sort of promotional package, extended warranty, free service, rebates etc etc…

      Walk into Volvo.. nothing.. zip…

Sorry I like the car, but the marketing sucks.

Promotional packages means the car’s inherent value is less. Cars without promotional packages are more exclusive.

Maybe Volvo don’t want the volume of BMW/Mercedes because their profit margins are high enough.

Finally, someone with a modicum of logic says it. Why do you think BMW and MB have a lot of pre-registered (Volvo too but small volume)? Sales KPI sahaja…

            Sure or not .

Nowadays , Mercedes and BMW are price cheaper than Volvo .

So meaning to say People who can afford Merc and BMW will not be able to afford a Volvo .

Is that what you are saying not many buyers can afford a Volvo right?

That why many people buying the problematic BMWs and then 3 years old later will dump those cheap BMWs into the Dust Bin when the lease and free services expired

Volvo dont have enough skilled manpower to serve the market.

          controlled sales is good though.

Most of the BMW and Mercedes parts for Malaysia CKD also comes from China

China made is way much better than Thailand made ( Camry), Mexico (Q5), South Africa ( 3 series and c class) .

In summary , in today world of globalisation , Suzuki in Malaysia also made from India parts

Land Rover and jaguar for Asia use also made from China at least better quality than Honda and Mazda made in Malaysia..

Perodua made in Malaysia is purely rubbish junk

The volvo cars arent appealing to the (rich or avarage) young buyers. The car is too conservative and still having a stigma of “unker-car”

I think, promo or no promo isnt going to make much difference

    • I’m young and i bought the latest Volvo XC. It is such a great car to drive. Value for money especially the T8 model. No regret buying it.
