Volkswagen will soon be launching the revamped R logo, a move symbolising a fresh start. The new logo, which was developed at the Volkswagen Design Centre, features a more elongated R to help create a more powerful impression of R and R-Line models.
Yes, even the R-Line badge has been redesigned. In fact, it will be debuting for the first time on the Atlas Cross Sport R-Line when the car debuts in North America on October 11.
In the words of Klaus Bischoff, the head of Volkswagen Design himself: “The R marks the athletic apex of our model program and the R logo serves as an expression of both aesthetics and sportsmanship. At the same time, it is gaining in terms of both clarity and charisma, as is the new Volkswagen brand logo.”
Volkswagen R’s managing director Jost Capito added: “The new logo for the R models and the R-Lines also goes hand in hand with the realignment of the Volkswagen R brand.
