2020 Ducati Diavel 1260 S now in red – RM108k in Italy

Shown at the Ducati World Premiere in Rimini, Italy was the 2020 Ducati Diavel 1260 S, now in Ducati Red to give the Borgo Panigale “power cruiser” a “sportier” look. Pricing for the 2020 Diavel 1260 S in Italy is 23,190 euros (RM108,174) while the base model Diavel is priced at 20,290 euros (RM94,649), compared against the price of the 2019 Diavel 1260 S in Malaysia at RM139,900 and Diavel 1260 at RM119,900.

Launched at the end of 2018, the Diavel 1260 is targeted at the sportsbike rider who wants an easy to ride, everyday machine, something we can attest to during our ride of the Diavel 1260 S in Spain earlier in 2019. Seating on the Diavel 1260 S is more upright than laid back with mid-mounted foot controls and a 780 mm seat height.

Producing 159 hp at 9,500 rpm and 129 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm from the Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Valve Timing) 1,262 cc twin-spark V-twin with Ducati’s Desmodromic valve actuation, the Diavel 1260 S is designed to deliver power in the mid-range. This is helped by the use of a six-speed gearbox equipped with slipper clutch, up-and-down quickshifter and chain final drive.

Braking is done by Brembo, with M4.32 callipers for the base Diavel while the Diavel S gets Brembo M50 Monoblocs. Bosch Cornering ABS Evo is standard for both versions of the Diavel 1260 along with a full suite of riding aids including traction control, ride modes and cruise control.

The Diavel 1260 S gets 48 mm diameter Ohlins upside-down forks and Ohlins fully-adjustable monoshock as well as an up-and-down quickshifter. Braking is done with Brembo M50 Monoblocs – the base Diavel uses Brembo M4.32 callipers – and Bosch Cornering ABS Evo is standard.
