After three months of order taking, the 2023 Audi Q8 e-tron is now in Malaysia. We’re getting the big premium EV in ‘advanced 50 quattro’ spec from official distributor PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM), priced from RM369,000 to RM379,000.
The Q8 e-tron advanced 50 quattro is powered by a pair of electric motors that serve up a total of 340 PS (250 kW) in boost mode as well as 664 Nm of torque. The two-stage ratio planetary gearbox with a single gear channels drive to all four wheels, and 0-100 km/h is done in six seconds flat. Top speed is 200 km/h.
The motors are juiced by a lithium-ion battery with a gross energy capacity of 95 kWh (89 kWh usable). The published range is 410 km in the WLTP cycle and claimed energy consumption is 24.0 kWh per 100 km combined. An on-board 11 kW AC charger is included.
The Q8 e-tron is a large SUV, measuring 4,915 mm long and 1,937 mm wide, with a 2,928 mm wheelbase. Boot volume is 569 litres. The Audi competes with the popular BMW iX, which is 38 mm longer and 30 mm wider, and has a 72 mm longer wheelbase. By the way, the iX that we get, the xDrive 40, has 322 hp, 630 Nm, a 0-100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds and 425 km range.
This grey example wears 20-inch Graphite Gray five-arm dynamic style alloys and sits on adaptive air suspension. Other exterior kit include LED main headlights, LED rear combination lamps, high-beam assist and a high-gloss styling pack. Inside, the Q8 e-tron is furnished in “mono.pur 550” combination leather, a leatherette-covered dash top, gloss black buttons with haptic feedback and aluminium look trim.
On the tech front, there’s Audi virtual cockpit plus, Audi connect Navigation & Infotainment, Audi smartphone interface, Audi phone box light and MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch response. The Q8 e-tron’s dashboard has three screens and a more traditional layout versus the long co-joined screen format employed by BMW (and almost every Chinese brand). It’s more busy-looking here, which some might like – do you?
Comfort features include electric front seats with four-way lumbar (memory for driver), four-zone climate control and a powered tailgate. Safety wise, it’s as you’d expect. Eight airbags; Audi pre sense front and rear; adaptive cruise control with speed limiter, efficiency assist, swerve assist and turn assist; lane departure warning and front/rear cross traffic assist are all included.
The Q8 e-tron looks more like a conventional SUV compared to the wild BMW iX, which is quite a sales success here despite its looks being panned by car enthusiasts. Which big electric SUV do you prefer?

WOW. A decently priced Audi? Am I dreaming? This is a bargain compared to that fugly BMW iX.
At least both of Audi Q8 and BMW iX looks better than Mercedes EQC
Mercedes EQC doesnt challenge with iX, EQE SUV does
Yet price range around the same between EQC and iX but don’t know about EQE SUV.
Probably one of the lowest
maintenance “cost” Audi
Better than Mercedes EQC. Even prices between Mercedes EQB and Audi Q8 are not much difference
True… haven’t got a properly priced Audi for a while. Those A3/A4 prices are simply not competitive
Buy this car go back to Sinkie to claim warranty later. orz
This Auto looks like good, the look, at least
Audio with some curves its looking much better. I have never been a fan of Audi, but this sure made take a second look. But as always skeptical about the service and more so with the new “EV tech”. There is not enough car on the road to assess the reliability. Well.. well I considering a replacement to my “ICE” BM3 for a new ride. Prefer upgrading to a hybrid version rather than a electric car… yet! Sigh.. gone are the good old days of “fun” driving !!!
I think you still can enjoy another generation of ICE before switching.
With our petrol price still low… no incentive to switch yet. Only thing is the EV tend to be better spec due to tax free.
The incentive is all ev tax free at the moment.. these audi and ix with full spec like what we get here cost close to 80gbp which if they were no tax incentive will easily cost you close to 1million. So enjoy this 800k q8 etron or ix at a bargain while you still can
Today, we also saw the launch of the Lexus RX, priced from RM468k.
Makes it a bit difficult to decide..
Damn what a beauty and really great price!!! A sweet surprise really. A steal
I booked on January before the launch. They sold out the Q8 etron allocation just month after ! My friend who booked on March had to wait for Q1 2024! Its literally sells like hot cake. Got mine from audi setia alam
holy sh$t… a full-size Audi SUV EV that actually reasonably priced? idk what to say about this bro
Perfect car in its class, just like iX
Good job Audi. Finally disrupted the EV market!
sensible price. shocking.
Hi, Danny.
Whatever happened to the previously published 491km range with the new battery packs as opposed to the now claimed 410km range? Is this reduced range only happening for M’sian market? Coz all the other foreign content channels still sticking to the originally announced 491km range due to the new battery pack upgrade, even our neighbours down south. Is that why the price is sub-RM400k? Coz somehow Audi reduced the traveling range?
Tht is for the e tron 55 with 100 plus kw larger battery price at around 450k
