Alongside the EPU electric pick-up truck, Toyota has also unveiled the Land Cruiser Se Concept at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo. That’s right, you’re looking at an EV Land Cruiser that just might be put into production in the near future.

Despite the iconic Land Cruiser name, though, this concept actually runs a monocoque construction. As blasphemous as that sounds, Toyota claims the LC Se offers highly responsive handling and confidence in tackling rough terrain, as well as high-torque driving performance expected of an EV.

The concept is a large SUV with three rows of seats, though the interior has not been shown just yet. Toyota simply describes it as an SUV with a comfortable cabin space that caters to the world’s diverse needs.

In terms of styling, it has a look of its own, without drawing too much from the Land Cruiser’s long and rich heritage. Obvious are the vertical black trims below the headlights that are taken from the Land Cruiser 300, and the 250 Series-style step-up window line. The rest of it looks sleek, if rather generic for a futuristic SUV.

Size wise, the Land Cruiser Se measures 5,150 mm long, 1,990 mm wide and 1,705 mm tall with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. For comparison, that’s very similar to the 250 Series Land Cruiser Prado that measures 4,925 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

No other details just yet, so this is all we have to go by for now. What do you think of a full-electric Toyota Land Cruiser for the near future, though? Comment below.
