The Lotus Eletre is a five-seat executive electric SUV, launched in 2023 as the Type 132. It trades Lotus’s traditional lightweight sports-car formula for a large, high-performance EV with a 112 kWh battery. Prices start from RM499,000, for buyers after super-SUV power and an upmarket electric SUV rather than a conventional Lotus two-seater.
Eletre in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the Eletre 600 receives MY27 upgrades in Malaysia while retaining its existing entry price. The Malaysian battery-electric range continues from the 600 through to the 900 Sport Carbon, with 600 models using 603 hp and the 900 pair 909 hp. Separately, the Eletre X PHEV begins EU sales with 550 PS or 952 PS versions and up to 1,200 km total range; no Malaysian availability is announced.

Which variant to buy
Most buyers should start with the Eletre 600 at RM499,000: it has 603 hp, a 600 km quoted range and the same 112 kWh battery as the RM569,000 600 GT SE and RM649,000 600 Sport SE. On paper, those two cost more without a listed mechanical gain, so check their equipment lists closely. The RM769,000 900 Sport adds 909 hp and a two-speed automatic, but loses 20 km of quoted range. The RM839,000 900 Sport Carbon is for buyers specifically wanting its trim.

Verdict
The Eletre is an unapologetically big electric SUV, and at around two-and-a-half tonnes it is a long way from the light, raw Lotus sports cars that built the badge. The 600’s 603 hp and 600 km quoted range give it serious headline ability, but it starts above the Jaguar I-Pace, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Volvo EX90. Buy it for its size, pace and Lotus badge, not for a revival of the Elise formula.
