Mitsubishi I Concept

Mitsubishi has a new concept minicar that might just find it’s way into production lines. The Mitsubishi i Concept is built with large interior space, crash-worthiness and a fun driving experience in mind.

The car has a long wheelbase, with wheels at the very edges of the car with minimal overhands. This is very common these days so that the car will have more room for the interior. The car is also a rear-midship. The engine is at the rear.

Speaking of engines, this i Concept is powered by a 3-cylinder turbocharged MIVEC making 64hp.

i want. Interior looks a bit too futuristic, though. I hope the final production model will have a more appealing look. And with a small engine, the fuel economy should be reasonable too.

This car will be launched at Japan market early Next year 2006. The 660cc new MIVEC Aluminium Engine block engine and rear wheel drive car was the unique of this model. Also the production models is very similar to Motor show models, just the interior design had been changed not too extrame as Show car. Hope to drive it someday! I think it was very unique design in Mini car segment. Not BOXes or Square looking shape all the time.

the first image is the most appealing… also with the wheels at the corners, (virtually no overhangs) it should be fun to drive too!
