2007 Nissan Sentra USDM

While our Nissan Sentra has just been facelifted here, Nissan has unveiled the new 2007 Nissan Sentra at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Our Nissan Sentra and the USDM Nissan Sentra has always looked very different, so I’m not sure if Nissan intends this to be the Sentra across the world or have separate USDM and JDM Nissan Sentras.

The front has Nissan’s new front face look, with headlamps that remind me of the 350Z’s, while the back reminds me alot of our Chevrolet Optra’s back.

The new 2007 Nissan Sentra is powered by a 2.0 litre 135hp engine, hooked up to a 6-speed manual transmission. For those who don’t like clutch pedals, there’s also an X-tronic CVT option, which reaffirms Nissan’s commitment to CVT technology.

The 2007 Nissan Sentra definitely has a tough task ahead in the US market with the award-winning new 2006 Honda Civic and the sporty Mazda3 as it’s competitors.

    Wahlaueh…

Still convensional auto transmission?? the sterling look good & comfort for gripping. Overall still good & has good potential to add in aftermarket skirting & sport RIMS to make it more sporty & awesome.

The design was based on Nissan concept car, Azeal in NAIAS 2005,especially the facade. The most interesting design is the front grille, look closely as it wasnt a traditional mesh grille. The C-pillar has a little resemblance to Mazda 3. Yet it isn't as dynamic as Mazda 3 (in my opnion, hehe)…hopefully this sentra has better performance than the outgoing model..SHIFT_power!

I must say I look forward to facelift these days, doesnt matter which manufacturer or model. It shows the company's commitment, how serious and sensitive they are to customers wants. I think Nissan knows how to put some 'musle' into the exterior of this car and this one looks really cool in the driving.

Hate the interior though, especially the color combination and yeah, the back is close to Chevrolet Optra.

    Hi retro,

The ever growing Honda & Toyota gone thru facelift on certain models. Hyundai & Nissan dont want to be left behind, as we can see here. Proton just cant be satisfied with changing names and engines such as Chancellor & Waja CamPro, dont you think so?

a bit weired comparing the seat color and the facelift…

the dashboard design is bit out of age, for my opinion…

but the exterior looks 'strong'. :D

    cheers…

This car is a patchwork of so many design cues, don't really know what it wants to be in the end… the front looks like a cadillac, maybe that's nissan's last ditch attempt to serve up to american tastebuds
