2010 BMW 5-series (F10) Artist’s Impression

2010 BMW 5-series (F10) Artist's Impression - 001

These are the latest attempts by talented graphic artists at predicting how the 2010 BMW 5-series will look like. The next generation BMW 5-series is expected to be codenamed the F10, one of the first of new BMWs to adopt the F-code for chassis, abandoning the current E-code. This very detailed rendering hints of a larger and fatter 5-series, and the headlamps used are similiar to the one on the Coupe, much sexier than AutoBild’s 3-series headlamps on their rendering of the F10. Have a look at the rear (after the jump), and you’ll realise this is pretty much just like a 3-Coupe, fattened up with four doors. The current E60 BMW 5-series has just been facelifted.

For speculation on the size of the new F10 BMW 5-series, as well as another computer rendering by AutoBild, check out the related posts below. Also, check after the jump for a rendering of the rear.

Chris Bangle still in-charge of styling next generation BMW…??

    Hope not.

Doesn’t look like an all new design. To me it looks more like a facelift as it has a lot of similarities as the current one. Or should I say adding some extra bits of the new 3 series coupe onto the existing 5 series platform.

Unfortunately they have toned down the beasty looking current 5 series featuring its fierce eagle eye looks. BMW is playing safe again.

This could be the reason, Paul wrote,

I think BMW shares Ferrari’s sentiment of not liking to be correctly guessed at their next move or future development. This may be a good hint but unlikely to come out as the real deal. In anyway what’s the point of speculating their next move and saying this is the one when all the need to do is change something and dang the prediction flies out of the window.

We all need to dream once in a while don’t we?

Hue of the Merc CLS in the design. Nice attempt but something tells me the new beemer 5 in 2009 will look radically different from this.

The rear look like 3 series coupe.
5 Series….wonder how is the replacement will look like. The current one really damn cool.

My mistake. I thought it was BMW’s impression. I do hope that the upcoming 5 series is not anywhere near that design. Whatever it is, the 5 should be way different from the 3 or 7 series.

Hopefully it won’t end up like Volvo S60/S80 or Audi A4/A6/A8 looking somehow similar with its siblings.

What is this, this is just a 3 series coupe elongated to become a 4 door sedan with photoshopped on M5 rims. I would hardly call this a prediction. By 2010, the 5 series might not even look like a car. I doubt they would carry a 3 year old design from 2007 over to 2010.

from the pics shown, i don think there is any special for the 2010 bmw… besides now is only 2007… after 3 years the car still look kinda similar to the current models… juz only the rear gains a sleeker look… but the front seems to be unchanged… bmw should come up with more futuristic design which will stun everyone… juz like honda did to its civic…

i know its just an impression, but i cant see anything than just an over size 3 series, is that good or bad?……

That looks like the result of crossbreeding the 3-series with the 7-series… Really looks like it. Maybe BMW was thinking, let’s play with numbers… The 5-series is in the middle of the 3 and the 7 and 3+7=10 so to get a somewhat middle value that would be 10/2 which gives you 5, and voila, the new 5-series…

a very bad photoshop rendering. just modify an E92 and he got the next-gen 5-series? c’mon…

Whatever the outcome, BMWs are always desirable.

And Bangle always has the last laugh.

Chris Bangle you idiot… You deserve to be voted as one of the top ten villains in the automotive world… You ruined the BMW’s design for the last time! E90 3-Series, then the 7-Series, now this… You should be working for some Korean car company!

My god.I sure hope it doesn’t look like this. It is like a larger 3 series. That’s all. Be more creative. Merc design is sure to smoke you…but then again. It is a matter of perspective.

This coming model doesn’t seem to have that wow factor as of current one, I think. The front lights looks small, while the rear design is not impressive. May not make head turns as the current ones do.

Nothing diffrent , i thought some thing nice than 2005 , but actually its same
I dont know what what to say , just maybe the designer drunk when he design this car .

The 5 series from 04 to 09 was flat out ugly in the front. If this new design holds true, my faith will be restored. They would have taken the best from the e-39 5 series spliced together with the current 3-series coupe. Very handsome indeed. I’ll be getting one of these down the line.

I like it. It looks a lot like the 7 Series. I want them to do a diesel version of it (535d), along with an M5 Wagon (like in other countries except US, we don’t have it), and an M5 Grand Touring. I’d also say kill off the 528i and 528i xDrive, they are way too underpowered.

I love my current 07′ 5 Series, I hope the new design beats the old one. As for the picture, I don’t like it. I hope they underpromisse and overachieve.
BMW 5 Series usually are the nicest.
