Aston Martin Rapide: Safety by Volvo
Aston Martin will be procuring Volvo’s help to develop the Aston Martin Rapide 4-door sedan’s safety system. Volvo’s safety engineering expertise was also used previously on the DB9 and V8 Vantage models. Volvo will develop a stiff aluminium structure for the Aston Martin Rapide. This includes designing the B-pillar and side-members to optimise occupant safety during side impact collisions.
Aston Martin hopes the new Rapide will add on about 1,000 to 2,000 units to the niche carmaker’s current production levels, helping with economies of scale as well as sales. It intends to launch the new Aston Martin Rapide in late 2008, hopefully before Porsche launches it’s competitors the Porsche Panamera.

porsche a lil bit monotonous in the designs, merc cls has been long in the market…

but i still expect sumthin named Lagonda as 4doors sportslimo to join this CLS-like family. I think i like the past ‘design-by-ruler’ lagonda V8 for no reason. Aston should make a new one.

So you’ll get top notch safety, power, and beauty in one package, good, very befitting such a beautiful car. This has got to be one of the most elegant 4 doors apart from the Peugeot 908RC.
