Proton’s Satria Neo has been made the official safety car for the Australian Motor Racing Series (AMRS). It made it’s debut as the safety car at the AMRS opening race in March 2007. This is the third year of the new AMRS race, which began in 2005. There are 13 race categories including the Production Touring Car Championship, The Australian Touring Car Challenge, V8 Giants, OzBoss, and X Challenge.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
wow.. i knw its pretty much a product placement thingy.. but still for it to be a pace/safety car gotta mean sumthin, no?
i'll have mine with red lights pls.
Hmmm, safety car only…..i tot its a pace car……coz saw a glimpse of Maseratis n Porsches in the 2nd pic, how can it pace a supercar?
Wow..no wonder voloume proton sales at aus ok.
to be a safety car. that's also some standard to reach. not all car can be safety car. Take note on that!.
I just confuse.. Why proton wont put neo as safety car in last Sepang F1? Ok.. they want to save budget.. perhaps..
hameed, the job of the safety car is not to lead the 'actual' race cars around at race pace. Its to maintain a safe(but not slow) speed around the circuit for whatever situation that arises which needs a safety car.
Proton cannot be a safety car for F1, as F1 already has an exclusive contract with mercedes for the whole season. Even BMW can't get in if they wanted too.
but to be honest, if you really wanted to be an F1 safety car, you will need a road car thats super fast.. if BMW were to do it, nothing less than an M5, or M6 can do the job. 500hp min. is necessary.
wow, that is something we can be proud off. The Chosen One. Neo.
any tuning for this satria neo?
Pace Car,or Safety Car, same funtion, different name in different continent/race series. F1 calls it Safety Car, American ChampCars calls it Pace Car.
Mercedes' F1 contract goes back some years already. And F1 Safety cars aren't run of the mill AMG models but tuned up further. Not to mention driven by ex DTM racers. Testerday's Bahrain GP Safety car CLK63AMG was driven by Bernd Shneider, multiple DTM champion.
I so happy about it , because i also got the Neo . My car is getting better , proton , you do a good job.

FYI, BMW is the official safety/Pace car for MOTOGP where they're using some M series coupe & sedan for this..very garang/fast/loud during last year motogp at Sepang…..
BMW always proud of their bikes….heard their planning to enter Motogp soon. plus u notice that where ever auto show they are in..they will always bring their bikes too.
Whatever car they use, it has to able to "pace" the field. It still has to be of a decent clip as race cars need adequate airflow to thier radiators to avoid overheating.
Now, what is "slow" for a race car can be impossibly fast for a road car.
Just WOndering How much UNDERTABLE money has to pay by PROTONG in order to put This car on circuit to be their SAFETY CAR or SAFETY BIKE.
jus curious,is this a pure stock std car or modified for track use?
an official safety car eeh? i wonder why the chose it…….but anyway protons recognition is gion up in aus.
proton certainly penetrated australian market..
anyway, quite a feat to be a safety car for an official race..
kudos to proton
when safety neo runs on track, all the race cars need to do emergency braking…..safe huh
when something good happen.. people always on denial..
under table or not is not an issue…
I think cause the GTi can pawn a racing competition over there, so they hope that a stock neo will be more than enough to slow down fast cars. But its a good sign. For some weird reason, proton is well known brand to the Aussie
its like the toyota here.not exacly a national car but well known.same to be said in aus for proton.
what undertable??? is OZ ok! hummph! :-[
Undertable money, Australia Says NO!
Everything is DRIVEN by MONEYs….money…money……
Including GHOST!
whatever it is, the satria is really something. proton can acheive more, only if the management style changes
Frankly, the Neo is solidly built, and have good handling features.
Obviously for track use, the car would have to have a stiffer suspension set-up. Surprisingly, the car shown is still with its original seats. Not Sparco or Recaros. Kudos.
auctioncenter2u , please stop talking rubbish, i've seen all your postings in pauls blog, and they're all rubbish.. please talk some sense.
I will give credit to Proton for this. I believe it is a committee that make the final decision to select the safety car, 'under table' is not relevant in this case.
Hi Paul, I had left a comment on this site, but it is taken out now. Is there some kind of censorship ?
don't know how it would fared compared with Suzuki Swift… Engine and Handling wise….
ybng: as far as i know, i didnt delete any comment of yours. on which post was it?
I'm sure this AMRS Race also have strict rules and regulation just like F1 especially thing involving safety and property, so a Proton car as a safety/car means it sure pass the requirement….good job proton.
A proton, selected as a safety car among those maseratis and porsches? Looks like Proton has got some recognition. Kudos to Proton.
I noticed from the picture of the neo doing a corner above that the car is rolling quite a bit. Proton should do somehing about that.
@@ wooooooo im amaze
I wonder if d Proton in OZ is different from d 1 here…
There's quite alot of Protons in OZ
Anyways, good job Proton..
