Lexus RX350 1

Lexus Malaysia is now selling the very popular Lexus RX350 luxury SUV as the third model in it’s line-up, joining it’s GS and LS sedan brethren. It goes for RM382,934.50 on the road including a RM9,934.50 insurance for individual private registration, and RM383,683.23 including RM10,483.23 insurance for business private registration.

The new Lexus RX350 comes with a three year warranty, or the first 100,000km travelled, a pretty standard warranty package these days. It is powered by the 2GR-FE, a 3,456cc V6 Dual-VVTi engine making 272 horsepower at 6,200rpm and 342Nm of torque at 4,700rpm. This is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission (4 forward + 1 forward overdrive). 0-100km/h acceleration takes 7.8 seconds.

Features include electric seats, power rear door, HID headlamps, a wide panoramic moonroof, and a wood grain and leather interior finishing available in a few variations. Safety features include VSC, Traction Control, EBD, ABS, and the works, as well as 7 airbags which include dual two-stage front airbags The Lexus RX350 sold by Lexus Malaysia is equipped with a Mark Levinson 11 speaker in-car entertainment system with a 6-CD in-dash changer, which Lexus says is “like having Bach perform the Toccata and Fugue in D minor in person”. Would definitely like to try having a listen to that.

I also prefer the Murano in the Infiniti guise, the design is more menacing.

I'm surprised it took so long for Toyota to officially bring the Harrier/RX350 into the Malaysian market.

  8. BrakeFader says:

Most people would opt for recon but there should be a market for those who want to buy all new model with the original warranty with it. I still like Murano's external look than this but interior wise, this RX is still preferable. More heads will turn if you drive a Murano for its exclusive numbers.

erm I think it is too pricey. VW is currently promoting the Toureg 3.6 V6 for RM399K if i'm not mistaken. IMHO, at that price level, the Toureg is a better choice.

Compare to Murano and RX350, I will take RX350 if the price are similiar. The interior of lexus is much luxury and leather seat is much more softer compare the nissan murano. Also, lexus has very high satisfaction rating in US.

i dont think hybrids will NOT do well in malaysia currently. they cost way more than the conventional counterpart, and issues of servicing and parts will definitely crop-up.. Besides that, the majority of consumers today are still not very environmentally conscious.. btw, how many of you here actually remove your catalytic convertors? i know many do, for more power.. its not against the law, so people do it.

haha…i just had to comment on the pic with the front seats folded down flat.

Even with these things not costing all that much in North America, would anyone that can afford something like this not be able to afford even a cheap motel room, to have to camp out in an SUV?

i think lexus malaysia is not only selling u their car & then period. they r selling u a total experiences in owning a piece of luxurios item. those who like other model so much should take ur time & visit the showroom. u'll b serve 1st class no matter what type of car u drive in. the type of service u provide will make u feel special. i've experienced it & now i know y lexus doing so well in us 2. 1st issue of top gear malaysia have comment that the 1st generation of is200 owner r still laughing bcos of the service experience from lexus uk.

It's competitors will be the XC90 and the Toureg. Murano simply does not have the 'charisma' as Lexus has. The XC seems to have cornered a huge market and even could outdo the X5 and ML (old models). However, the XC would have to do some face lift pretty soon if it still wants to be the market leader. In the Malaysian context, the XC is ahead of the Lexus, and with a 3litre engine, road tax will feature quite prominently in the consideration. And a 7 seater configuration saels it's dominance.

    wahlaueh…

    this car is damn good.

i managed to get a drive on the 3.0 litre recon Lexus. I must say the feeling so comfort & quick good in response even wrapped with 20" wheels.

The moonroof looked gorgeous when engaged to fully open. The only disadvantage is this car drink quite a lot of petrol… But if u consider 3.0 litre with the body weight & wheel size… this is excellent already.

Well for people who can afford that kind of cars i dont think hybrid will be an issue.. I have seen honda civic hybrid on the roads, why not this lexus.. even the spare part is expensive, they have warranty and those rich person would change the car after using it for a few years.. In US they name it as RX hybrid 400h. Well check it out. .http://www.lexus.com/models/RXh/ and one thing i already saw half-cut of toyota prius hybrid and harrier in selayang chop shop. So, spare part is consider still can be found. With $$$ anything is posible..

I like to share with those Harrier owners, I have this 2nd generation Harrier since 04. It is a great machine but some how the dash started to crack at serveral places only noticed it about 2 years then. I do cover the dash with shield while parking under hot sun. the type of material used for the dash could be of non tropicalised formulation. May any one of you give me some suggestions as to how to over come this problem, replace it (going to be expensive) or repair it – where to go. tks.

Just booked my Toyota Harrier 240G recond yesterday and am looking forward to driving it soon. Looks-wise, it’s like the Lexus RX300 and handles well. Gonna replace the badges back to Toyota (too many dealers change them to Lexus for the luxury feel although the car grants say Toyota) and voila, good to go!

    *Happy*
