Slow take-up for Automotive Development Fund

rafidah_left.jpgMinister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz says take-up for the Automotive Development Fund (ADF) is abit slow this year, with only two applications for working capital and machinery worth RM10 million received as of June this year.

This makes total disbursement totalling RM60 million so far out of a total RM400 million allocated, with RM50 million going to Proton last year for the consolidation of dealers and the rationalisation and improvement of vendors.

10mill for businesses for machinery and 50mil for Proton? I wonder who got the 10 million.

    Wow.

Great, wonder when she'd see the light.

If it wasn;t bad enough that we are already loosing the big pie of FDI, you still have to shell out cash on a dying overweight giant. Great job.

There won't be any Automotive Development in Malaysia until AP is dead. National automakers just ain't feeling enough heat yet. I say we unleash the foreign automobiles upon our "national pride/shame" and let em slug it out!! Then we'll see Automotive Development, true development, not rebadging of foreign firms' development.
