Alfa Romeo Brera S: lighter and tighter

Alfa Romeo UK has unveiled a special 500 unit run of the Alfa Romeo Brera called the Alfa Romeo Brera S. The Brera S gets a specially Prodrive-tuned suspension using Eibach coils, Bilstein shocks, and aluminium components. The suspension also lowers the car by 10mm. It also gets lightweight 19 inch wheels inspired from the alloys on the Alfa 8C Competizione, and hollow anti-roll bars.
The engines in the Brera S range put out the same power as the normal Brera, but the other improvements will make the driving experience very different. For one, the weight reduction in various components like the suspension system shaves off between 35kg to 100kg depending on model, with the 260hp 3.2 liter V6 model losing the most weight. The other would be better handling thanks to the Prodrive-developed suspension.
More photos of the Alfa Romeo Brera S after the jump.

What’s wrong with the local distributors? 156 used to do so well 10 years back …. and still they’re selling 156 … gosh ….. why dont they bring the 159? Brera ? stupid SDAI brought Alfa GT ….

altimi; those italians knews what they were doing. In fact if u look at Toyota Aurion TRD..the car is 3.5L with 320bhp and 400nm of torque!..but still the car is front wheel drive. The car is made by TRD as production car.

altimi…dis is nt a front wheel…jz wanna correct u..dis is base on q4 which is all wheel drive…so…it can cope with all the power…imagine the base model will b arnd 400k-500k…for the s,it will b more xpensive..btw…this one is limited edition…so…mabe x sampai pn if xde yg order…
they already stop selling the facelifted 156 bcoz want to bring the 159 bt dunno when it will b arrive…

I remembered in one of the episodes of Fifth Gear where Vicki Butler Henderson test drove the AF Brera and she was disappointed with the vague steering feedback and soft suspension setup.
But I guess AF had readdressed this issue.

Oh my god.
I want this car.
It looks better than a porshe!!!

Alfa did say Prodrive redid the suspension setup with lots of liposuction. And Vicky did test the diesel whith the nosedive. So, theoretically it should be ok. But the missing piece is the tranny. Why the silence? Selespeed 2.0?

A stunning looking car….and ..some of it manufactured in Malaysia as well ..pity its unlikely to be sold here..
