Ford Europe has released initial information and a set of 3 photos of the new Ford Ka. This latest generation Ford Ka is built on the Fiat 500′s platform and also shares the 500′s 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre Multijet diesel platform.

An official debut will be at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, where more information on the car will be revealed, but for now enjoy the three photos.

hm, i think the centre console design is not very clever. taller drivers will find themselves rubbing their right knee against it.

The Fiat 500 looks way cooler and cuter than the Ford KA.

BTW I noticed that the position of gas/accelerator pedal is somewhat slanted. Is this normal ?

For a small car..the exterior design is pretty awesome…its kinetic design language works well on makin d car looks dynamic plus its family resemblance wit other ford models, mainly lower intake design is neat!….For interior, Ive seen the warmer colour and monotone ones..better…this one looks cheap n plasticky…overall design…something aint right somewhere…but the door handle is pretty cool…but then again..gotta check it out in real live..pictures can sometime fool ya…

This has got to be either the mock up interior model or the first prototype of the interior. Just look at the gaps! Hope they ractify it before mass production. Anyway it’s a neat trick to use a Fiat 500 platform and reskin it as a Ford. The rear seats is going to be real tight. I have seen the real Fiat 500, so the interior space would function as a ‘jump seat’ or additional luggage space..
Yeah, the pedals look kind of awkward.

First of all, I prefer this model than it’s predecessor. Man, the old it’s too ugly for my taste! Anyway, although this new Ka is built on the same platform as the Fiat’s 500..I don’t think we should compare them both in term of looks. I think the Fiat 500 is more hip and this Ford Ka is more slightly bold and muscular on it’s design. I think it should be compare with the Toyota Aygo! Hmmm…Ford, bila mau bawa masuk sini?

    Car_craze,

You said you have seen the real Fiat 500, right? Is it nice as all the journalist say it was going to be? I mean in terms of design interior and the looks department.

The Ka looks like the old Ka+ new fiesta squashed version. This thing will sell in UK, don’t get me wrong. 12 years, only come out with replacement model .

Looks like a good rival to Aygo, which is trendy but never last long. I prefer the retro style of Fiat 500. It looks more charming.
