Jaguar has upped the power and displacement for its flagship AJ-series turbodiesel from a 2.7 litre V6 producing 207hp and 433Nm of torque up to a new 3.0 litre V6 making 272hp and 570Nm of torque, pushing the Jaguar XF that it will power up a range from a BMW 530d competitor up to something more of a BMW 535d competitor. The motor will be installed in an XF model called the Jaguar XF S and will use two turbochargers in sequential arrangement to produce its power. A detuned variant producing 240hp and less torque will also be offered in a Jaguar XF model (without the S suffix).
It’s not far-fetched at all to assume that this new engine will find its way into the Land Rover Discovery 3 TdV6 as well, replacing the 2.7L in that vehicle.
