Lightly taped up pick-up truck in Segambut

Unknown Truck

Reader T P L sent in these shots of a lightly taped up truck spotted in Segambut. Could it be the new facelifted Ford Ranger, or maybe a Chevy-badged Isuzu Dmax (Chevy Colorado)? These are the only few possibilities, and the side profile definitely rules the Tata Xenon out. What do you think? Check out more shots after the jump.

UPDATE: Reader chaku/maru has identified this as the Great Wall Wingle, a pick-up truck by a Chinese manufacturer. It has an Euro 3-compliant 2.8 litre direct injection turbodiesel engine that puts out a rather sedate 95 horsepower and 225Nm from 1,600rpm that was developed with the help of Bosch.

    I think it's the D-Max

The 2009 Ranger Blue Oval logo is above the handle.

it's not Dmax, neither Ranger,it's Great Wall Wingle.i manage to figure it out because the shape of the logo is oval.the car itself looks so china-designed.and of course i've seen the pic of wingle before this.

95 is ok IF the torque higher. This truck need pickup not hi-speed.

but!… i really doubt china car tech. they should learn more and more again..

let say, wait another 3 years.. perhaps.

    their design… are weird!

A 2.8L CRDi with only 95hp and 225Nm of torque??? And what's with the design? Dump it together with the TATAs and Tritons. They are killing the very image of what pick-ups are suppose to be! A crying shame!!!

    Chiao!

Umm..!!, me as a car styling expert, I would say "With no offense of course" that this car has a variant themes when it was designed!. Basically, the car is certainly dressed by Isuzu D-Max body shape. But, when the manufacturer decided to copy this model, it became like "Adidos" instead of "Adidas" when you buy a shoe! If we talk about the front, we will notice a city car flair front. I believe if this vehicle on a pink color, there will be a lot of appeal from the ladies!. But focally, the vehicle has been equipped with the 1994 Opel Corsa slightly enhanced headlights combined with a Toyota Vios/ Yaris Mid-front grill similarity (I didn’t want to say Audi) and an off-road flair front-end lip to remain the Pick up's DNA. If we talk about the back, Tail gate fortunately still 2002 Isuzu D-Max. But, rear lights are quite big for the normal drivers when gets lightning behind. Nice job anyway.

To Malaysians, so long as the design is not boxy and boring like the rest of the trucks in the market, it would sell… on FIRST impression, To me, the truck got its robust look though..

But a test drive on Msian roads would disappoint… or somewhat better than rest.. never know…

If its a low-rider GWM truck, it would slowly build up on customer base thanks to its modern fascia design and possibly low-price strategy..

    Good luck to GWM!

Only 98 horsepower from a 2.8litre direct injection diesel?? Even my 2.7litre common-rail diesel produces 165hp, on paper.
