Ferrari 458 Italia

I’m sure there are some of you that wonder why the new Ferrari 458 Italia looks the way it does, especially those that don’t really like it. According to Ferrari, every design feature on the 458 Italia is driven by aerodynamics, and the video after the jump explains each grille’s function as well as how the deformable winglets at the grille area work. Watch the video after the jump. There’s also one previous video, in case you missed that.

You’re correct, Adam. Why 458? Italians are too stuck-up or forgot the huge Chinese market?

BTW Paul, there’s some news few months back (check S’pore Strait Time or Stomp site) regarding a Ferrari owner that simply park near a junction and caused some traffic nuisance. In some S’pore forums the Ferrari owner was slapped with few speed tickets here (listed by PDRM or JPJ website).

Anyway it’s just a sneaky news but apparently people more interested to note his so-called Ah Beng attire (red-dyed hair, maroon red pants) while not necessarily envious of his Ferrari. LOL!

Driver parks illegally at Holland V to show off his Ferrari

The inconsiderate driver of this Ferrari left his car parked in the yellow box at the entrance of the carpark at Holland Village while chatting to his friend, says STOMPer PiccaDolly.

His inconsiderate and selfish behaviour obstructed the way for many motorists trying to enter the busy carpark.

PiccaDolly also says that the driver also revved his engine to show off when he got back into his car.

Angry at his behaviour, STOMPer PiccaDolly says:

“An inconsiderate show off driver, parked his car (so what if it’s a Ferrari?!) partially in the yellow box junction right in front of car park entrance at busy Holland Village.

“He did this during dinner time JUST TO collect money from the fruits stall owner at Holland V hawker centre.

“Can’t he afford to pay for parking in the car park? He didn’t give a damn about obstructing cars entering the carpark.

“Look at the long queue of cars having to keep to one side just to get into the car park.

“After that, cars honked at him and he still took his own sweet time to chit chat.

“When he finally got back into the car about five minutes later, he revved his engine just to show off again before driving off.

“Mega bad dress sense to add to that show off attitude of this old Ah Beng. Pathetic.”

Oh really? Thats a big mistake I think by Ferrari. The Chinese market is very important to them. Or perhaps according to their profiling of their chinese target buyers, the buyers don’t really care? If thats not the case then I think it’s a serious marketing oversight by Ferrari. They may have to consider what other car makers do – different name for the chinese market

458 is a continuation of a naming tradition in Ferrari ‘45′ for 4.5L and ‘8′ for 8 cylinder. They seem to have revived this naming system.

The chinese market is Ferrari’s most important market. I think they should rethink their “Ferrari traditions” to accomodate the Chinese tradition!… hehee..

The most beautiful Ferrari of recent times, thats for sure. Futuristic and incredibly high tech.

Pity Ferrari… I think they can do better. They’re trying to copy Lamborghini design now.
