Remember the E39 M5 which had been converted to a utility truck by its owner? Well, someone has done the same to the latest BMW M3, and it’s actually none other than BMW themselves. This BMW M3 Ute was spotted at the famous Nurburgring race track, presumably undergoing suspension testing. It looks like the kind of thing which makes you look at your calendar to see if it’s the 1st of April yet!
Apparently it’s a one-off car commissioned by a company that makes accessories for BMW Motorrad bikes. We know bikes and pick-up trucks somehow go together, but despite that flatbed I don’t think any bike could fit in there!

you;re right alifz.. the jumbuck was pretty popular in australia.. they’ve stopped selling already it as its an ageing model which doesnt meet current regulations, and seem like Proton not building another ute also.
another intersting thing to note is that the “M boys” also built an E30 M3 ute before in the past.. its just something the guys there do on their ‘off time’. and the company encourages little projects like these.
There are LOTS of utes in Malaysia. Hilux, Navara, Ranger.. Pickup trucks all referred as utes in Australia.

I reckon it’s a test mule for the next gen M3 convertible. The disguise is quite good, to make look like a mini pick-up (or “ute” as the Aussies like to call them).
