The Foton Tunland has been spotted again, this time in the Klang Valley. Reader Brendan saw the vehicle in Serdang and along Seremban Highway on the weekend, and duly snapped a couple of shots of the side and rear of the truck.
Like the lightly disguised example seen in Penang last week, this one is making its road-evaluation rounds with trade plates. The sightings probably indicate that a market introduction is due soon enough, though in its specification form the pick-up is likely to have commercial-based leanings.
The Foton Tunland, which we first came across in the metal when it was on display at Auto China 2012 in April, is powered by a 2.8 litre Cummins ISF2.8s4161P oil burner, with 161 hp at 3,600 rpm and 360 Nm from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm for numbers, mated to a Cadillac-derived manual transmission.
Still no idea if it’s Berjaya or Warisan TC Holdings who are doing the testing – Warisan TC, through its Angka-Tan and Kereta Komersil Seladang subsidiaries, are in business with Beiqi Foton here, as is Berjaya, which sells the Foton View commercial van.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
I never trust China cars safety. It is a moving coffin for its drivers & passengers.
China car should enter the business car buyer market instead of targeting private car buyer. If i were owning a business that need a fleet of cars , china car would be the top of my list , as long as it is cheap and provide good warranty.
