Don’t worry, you haven’t stepped into an art gallery – but the evolution of the Mercedes S-Class is clearly as much about the way it looks as the engineering behind it, and the Stuttgart-based company is teasing the flowing lines of the next iteration of its luxury car with the ‘Aesthetics S’ sculpture, which will be displayed at the Paris motor show next month.
The relief-like sculpture will be accompanied by light projection, which yields a 3D effect in which “the creative imagination of the (car’s) designers can be visualised.” We find the visualising a little bit of a tall order, but there certainly are some striking lines to behold, and the strong creases along the body echo those on the new W176 A-Class.
Autocar reports that the next-gen Mercedes S-Class is expected to first surface at the Detroit motor show next January.
