Here’s another vehicle Ford has introduced during the company’s ‘Go Further’ event. This curious thing is called the Tourneo Connect, which the Blue Oval has positioned to be a “practical and affordable family vehicle offering outstanding space and versatility.”
The vehicle, which joins the eight/nine-seater Tourneo Custom in the Tourneo range, will be available in two versions – a five-seat Tourneo Connect and a seven-seat Grand Tourneo Connect. These vehicles will feature sliding rear doors, flexible seating and smart stowage areas.
Since these are mainly family vehicles, the engines that this vehicle will get will definitely be fuel-efficient and have excellent economy. So you’ll find downsized diesel and petrol engines as well as Ford ECOnetic Technologies in this multi-purpose vehicle.
The Tourneo Connect will be sold in Europe and North America – where it will be known as the Transit Connect Wagon – in 2013.

Largr than Alphard?
This is Ford’s answer to the Kangoo. From what I saw on German roads the Tourneo are mostly used as commercial vans, while the Kangoo is also often used as a family car. Basically every European car maker has one of these. Skoda has the Roomster, VW the Caddy, Citroen the Berlingo and Nemo, Mercedes the Citan (well, rebadged Kangoo), Peugeot the Partner, Fiat the Doblo, …
The Tourneo Custom is huge. 5.34m long. The Connect should be a smaller car… the previous one was around 4.30m.
