For those of you who don’t have the release date of Fast and Furious 6 penned into your calendars, perhaps this will whet your appetite for a car-based film – two-time Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard’s latest project, Rush.
Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest Formula One rivals ever witnessed – charismatic and handsome English playboy James Hunt (played by Chris Hemsworth of The Avengers and Thor fame) in a McLaren and his methodical and perfectionist Austrian opponent, Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl, Inglourious Basterds) driving a Ferrari.
Hunt and Lauda’s rivalry for the 1976 Formula One world championship intensified after the latter survived a terrifying crash at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit (you can see bits of this crash in the trailer above). His superhuman comeback mere weeks later, with half his face permanently disfigured, stunned his team, rivals, and the F1 world.
“Lauda and Hunt were rock stars of the racetrack: two absolute pros at the top of their game, in a time when sex was safe, driving was dangerous and all bets were off,” said Howard. “They were also complicated, fascinating men and born rivals. Rush will be as much about that personal rivalry as it will be about the thrill of the race.”
Rush will hit the theatres in September this year. We can hardly wait.

mighty thor on wheels
The Golden age of Motorsport, sends chill down my spine listening to those motors scream.
This will be epic.
Hell yeah!
About a billion times better than what-that-Stallone-movie years ago.
Nice. Must watch.
The days when F1 mortality rates were high and you can party the night before and show up to race with a hangover.
Thanks to Lauda’s near fatal crash the Nurburgring Nordschleife was banned forever from F1.
Years James Hunt’s brother David bought the rights to Team Lotus and Malaysia put itself on the map for the Lotus saga debacle :)
“…in a time when sex was safe, driving was dangerous” I can’t believe Ron Howard ripped off a quote from the Barry Sheene and James Hunt documentary – When Playboys Ruled The World.
To find out what life was like for racing stars in that era, it’s one of the best videos ever made.

Joe Taslim aktor from Indonesia join this movie by Jah. He also play in The Raid,
The late Ayrton Senna’s autobiography movie ‘Senna’ is already perfect in every detail. It doesn’t need a remake of an inspiring F1 legend knowing they used real footage in the movie. Only true racing fanatics would understand
Those were the days F1 was fun to watch..Pure racing without the political correctness we have now.Racers in those days race to win. There were no team orders then. The drivers make their own decision then unlike nowadays.James Hunt won the championship by half point in 1976.Point scoring was different then.
They also died a lot. It is common for them to lose friends or death ended their own career. In that sense its understandable for them to be boozing, smoking and shagging :) Sir Jackie Stewart quit the sport right after his 3rd championship win because it was ridiculously unsafe. His own team mate died a gruesome death in the final races. The governing bodies were quite flippant about safety and were more concerned about profits
2 men from different world clashing into the most dangerous sports ever lived. One is flamboyant and hothead; the other one is practical and genius. Exactly the same scenario just like what happened to between Senna and Prost saga in 1988-1991 seasons.
